The countdown is on for the June 23rd release of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. For those who can’t wait to see more content from the highly-anticipated title, publisher THQ Nordic has unveiled just what the development team at Purple Lamp Studios has in store for players in terms of Rehydrated’s boss battles.
The footage is only a minute long, but it’s jam-packed with the bosses that players will be encountering in the nautical remaster.
Everybody’s favorite yellow sponge will be taking on the likes of a mechanical Sandy Cheeks, Patrick Star, and even a karate-gear clad Spongebob Squarepants himself, all of which tower well above Spongebob. Players will need to avoid the boss attacks while finding and attacking their weak areas to come out victorious.
Robots aren’t the only enemies along for the ride, though. The trailer also features a royal jellyfish, a drone-riding Plankton, and the Flying Dutchman. All of the encounters seem to utilize your standard platforming pattern-based attack, meaning players will just need to learn the pattern and strategies accordingly to defeat each boss.
The Realistic Fish Head - who fans of the animated series will recognize as the Bikini Bottom reporter - is also featured in the trailer. It appears as though he shows up in the gameplay itself, but he might have just been added for effect in the gameplay trailer.
At any rate, Spongebob Squarepants will certainly have his hands full when SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated releases next month.
