At the end of the first Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4 and Playstation 5, players were shown that Peter Parker is not the only person with spider-powers in New York City. In the follow-up game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, players get their first opportunity to play as the younger, less experienced Spider-Man. One on a freshman adventure to discover his capabilities.

While Miles was not the first to be bitten by a radioactive spider, he possesses his own unique strand of powers. Some of his abilities are similar to those of Peter Parker, but others still are his alone. This creates a character with a skill set not yet seen in the Spider-Man series.

10 Venom Punch

In Miles’s standalone journey, players will have an arsenal of powers that differ from Peter Parker’s. One power that is distinctive to the Miles Morales rendition of Spider-Man would be his Venom abilities. Miles’ body creates its own electrical energy through the process of bio electrogenesis. His body is essentially able to create and produce electrical charges at will. This naturally produced electricity can be used offensively in a variety of ways. With the Venom Punch, Miles infuses his fists with electricity to significantly increase the power behind his punches.

9 Venom Blast

Another application of Miles’s bioelectric powers would be his signature Venom Blasts. By igniting the electricity in his body and making contact with a person or piece of technology, Miles is able to send out a shock. With varying levels of electric output, Miles can choose how much force he wants to put behind each attack. With levels that range from stunning an enemy to knocking others unconscious, this is an ability that takes incredible control. Miles uses this power effectively in confrontations despite the high learning curve.

8 Regenerative Healing Factor

Miles Morales is able to heal far faster than the average person. Injuries that would leave others in the hospital for extended periods heal overnight for this Spider-Man. While not as instantaneous a healing factor as the X-Man, Wolverine’s, it does ensure that Miles can continue to perform his duties as Spider-Man on a daily basis. Even after taking damage that would prove fatal to the average person, Miles can walk away with a few fractures and bruises that rapidly repair without medical attention.

7 Super-Human Equilibrium

Thanks to his spider physiology, Miles is able to retain a state of near-perfect balance despite his surroundings. Miles’s body instinctively adjusts to the surfaces he comes in contact with. No matter what the structure is, Miles can balance on just about anything.

Objects like flag poles, narrow scaffolding, and wires are as easy for him to navigate as walking is for an ordinary person. This is one power he shares with his mentor, Peter Parker, who has a new face created for next-gen.

6 Super-Human Stamina

Spider-Man’s body is able to fight the impact of fatigue far longer than the average human. Capable of extreme exertion for several hours at a time, Miles’ body combats exhaustion in even the most strenuous of circumstances. While his body is naturally resistant, he is not immune to the sensation of fatigue. Miles must continue a rigorous physical exercise routine to remain at peak condition. While his exercise mostly consists of crime-fighting, failure to do so results in less longevity, which could prove fatal in his line of work.

5 Spider-Sense

The Spider-Sense is one of Spider-Man’s most iconic abilities, and Miles also possesses this skill. If a threat is imminent, Miles feels a tingling sensation in his head that warns of oncoming danger. This power works to protect both Miles and Peter from otherwise unforeseeable attacks. It also allows their bodies to instinctively react to the threat in an act of self-defense. While Peter’s Spider-Sense also warns him of imminent danger, Miles’ Spider-Sense is far more powerful, allowing him to discern less immediate threats from greater distances, sometimes even miles away.

4 Super-Human Reflexes

Boasting reflexes over 20 times more powerful than the average human, Miles is able to react to all manner of attacks. Quicker than almost anything thrown at him, Miles outpaces hordes of enemies due to these reflexes. Dodging bullets is a simple task for Miles, as his reflexes are often instinctively acute enough to steer his body clear of danger. Surprise attacks are almost always ineffective due to his sharpest spider reflex, the Spider-Sense. Miles is always prepared for adversity with this ability.

3 Super-Human Strength

Miles Morales is incredibly strong. Capable of lifting 10 tons or more. This allows this Spider-Man to lift cars with ease. Having the strength of this magnitude allows him to leap large distances, sometimes several stories up into the air. His sizable strength makes his herculean feats and fights seem reasonable. It also explains how he is able to swing himself from his webs throughout New York City with ease. Because he is so strong, Miles often has to hold back when fighting human enemies. Failure to do so could ultimately lead to their demise.

2 Spider-Camouflage

Another of Miles Morales’s exclusive abilities sees him become nearly invisible. Similar to how some spiders can change their colors to match their surroundings, Miles’s body blends into the background when this power is activated.

Not only his body, but his wide variety of suits and clothes are impacted.  This power mimics invisibility, functioning as a way for Miles to stealthily deal with enemies, confuse them in battle, or evade combat altogether. It affords Miles far more options in regards to stealth than his counterpart Peter Parker.

1 Super-Human Agility

Miles’ coordination, balance, flexibility, and agility have all been proportionally altered to match that of a spider. His dexterity is so finely tuned that he is able to outperform Olympic-level athletes with ease. This agility is often used in skirmishes to evade and overwhelm enemies that attack Miles. Spider-Man will often flip and dodge his way around the group of enemies, using their own momentum against them. This finely tuned set of abilities, like Peter’s, is also integral to swinging from webs across the concrete jungle of New York City.
