E3’s PC Gaming Show has come and gone, but Day 9’s resplendent double chin will always live on in our hearts. And it also brought a bunch of big game announcements, including a release date for Dying Light 2 and a brand new look at Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.

But perhaps the biggest reveal came from a two-minute trailer midway through the PC Gaming Show from a little Italian studio called Reply Games. Their latest project looks to be heavily inspired by action titles like Nier Replicant, Demon Souls, and Devil May Cry, and it’s coming sometime next year.

Soulstice has you play as two sisters in one body–that’s because one of the sisters had to sacrifice hers in order to give the other superhuman strength and resilience. Briar is a Chimera, a human body with two souls. The other soul is her sister Lute, who follows Briar around as a ghost with mystical powers.

Chimeras are the only thing that can defeat the Wraiths that have taken over the city of Ilden. These hellish creatures poured in through an open portal to consume and possess the living, turning them into monstrous versions of their former selves.

In addition to Briar and Lute fighting their way through waves of enemies, the pair will have to take on enormous bosses with deadly attacks. As with most action titles, Briar can upgrade her arsenal of weapons for enhanced monster extermination while Lute can upgrade her magic powers to help Briar out with crowd control or a timely explosion.

Soulstice launches on PC via Steam in 2022, although the official website also mentions the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Another new game that got its debut at the PC Gaming Show is WarTales, a new medieval RPG that will hit Steam later this year. You play as the leader of a mercenary band as you pillage your way through towns and villages. Turn-based tactical combat is the name of this game, which you can wishlist on Steam right now.
