After last week’s shocking announcement of an indefinite delay for both The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR, it looks like Sony is canning plans to even release them in the near future. A few reports around the internet are going around that claim Sony is issuing refunds for any digital pre-orders of both titles made from the PlayStation Store. In fact, an official disclaimer on Sony’s support website confirms that suspicion.

“The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR have been delayed. All digital pre-order consumers will automatically receive a refund. Please check your email for more details,” reads the notice. Anyone that had reserved a copy should be automatically receiving a refund in the coming days. Further details will be emailed to the addresses linked to your account.

What makes the story more interesting is that both titles have been completely scrubbed from the PlayStation Store following this refund. It’s unlikely either game is being canceled, but more that Sony probably doesn’t intend to release them anytime soon. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic isn’t slowing down and Sony likely doesn’t want to risk developers getting sick just to release these titles.

All of this could be a big error, though, so take the news with a grain of salt. We’re bound to find out more in the coming hours.
