Looks like Sony nabbed another exclusive and it seems to be that they’re getting all of them these days (i.e. playable Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Free DLC for Brutal Legend.) This exclusive however, is of a different breed and comes in the form of the Multiplayer Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The plans for the multiplayer beta were revealed today on the “Battlefield Blog”.
Now how on earth can you gain access to the multiplayer beta? Easy, simply reserve the game at your local Best Buy or Gamestop (for PS3 of course) and you will receive a code to download the beta.
The beta features a 24-player map entitled Arica Harbor. Arica is actually a real place in Chile, so don’t expect to the same simplicity faced in the Russian landscape of the first Battlefield: Bad Company. I’ve played a little bit of this game and the vehicles are probably the best part! Expect ATVs, tanks and vehicles with guns mounted on the back. Beats walking, that’s for sure!
Sony CEA Senior Vice President of Publisher Relations Rob Dyer (what a title) seemed to be very excited for Battlefield when he was asked about the beta.
Here’s the announcement trailer from earlier today:
“This is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation gamers to get early access to one of the most action-packed and polished shooters in the marketplace.”
Don’t feel left out though Xbox and PC users, because there are demos heading to you as well… just not nearly as soon. Expect an open beta for PC during December and a brand new multiplayer beta releasing early next year for 360, PC, and PS3.The beta is available starting November 19th for those who reserve the PS3 version.
What do you think of all the exclusive things for PS3 as of late? Are you going to reserve Battlefield: Bad Company 2 now?
