It’s pretty well-known that a live action movie of Sonic the Hedgehog is set to hit theaters later this year, but many are not excited about a few of the design choices. In fact, attributed creator of Sonic the Hedgehog Yuji Naka has even expressed his dissatisfaction with the design of the Blue Blur. It’s uncertain how this will be taken by fans, but there has also recently been a leak showcasing Sonic running. Initial comments have continued the streak of disappointment that has thus far plagued its pre-release reception.

This Sonic the Hedgehog movie leak supposedly comes straight from a Paramount employee that shows a Sonic render of him running. Notably, the image and the document itself cannot be verified, nor if it actually came from the hands of a Paramount employee, so take the image with a grain of salt.

That said, the image looks rather believable, and falls in line with everything we know about the Sonic the Hedgehog movie thus far, including the contentious appearance of Sonic himself. One commentor even pointed out that this may be a document from the Kids Choice Awards later this month, due to the inclusion of Kids shows in the document.

The image of Sonic running is incredibly blurred, making it seem like something much older than a yet-to-be-released Sonic the Hedgehog movie would imply. The camera angle could also be a point of concern, considering that it seems as if Sonic is running toward it, in an incredibly realistic depiction unfitting of the speedster. Others may have more concerns with it, but perhaps this will be corrected before the movie releases in the fall.

Until the Sonic the Hedgehog movie releases, however, there’s no way to say for certain what this image exactly implies. It could be a depiction of something not mentioned here, though it would be hard to imagine what exactly. Perhaps Paramount will step in soon with a clarification on this image or a trailer of the upcoming movie that will, hopefully, put Sonic fans at ease.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is currently slated to release on November 8, 2019.
