Developer CI Games isn’t done with the Sniper Ghost Warrior series yet. In a brief announcement this morning, the polish company revealed that a sequel to last year’s game Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts would be coming to current-generation platforms this fall. Dubbed Contracts 2 (how fitting), we don’t know a whole lot else other than that it is happening.

In a press release, CI writes, “Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will be set in modern-day with more game details being revealed in the coming months.” It seems the original did well enough to warrant a sequel, which is something you always love to see. Fans really can’t get enough of the semi-realistic action this series provides.

It’s interesting that current-gen hardware is being targeted, but then the idea is likely that the game will be backward compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X. The PC version may have some additional graphical flourishes not available on the console ports, but we don’t know. There’s no trailer or even screens to go off of.

It’s still nice that something as niche as a sniping simulator could find success. I don’t remember anyone talking about the first Contracts, but at least fans of that iteration will be getting some more action sooner rather than later.
