The update for SMITE is live and adds the Japanese God of the Moon Tsukuyomi to the battle. Tsukuyomi was revealed in an epic trailer fighting with his sister Amaterasu. Armed with twin Tonfa blades, the God of the Moon will add some fast-paced action to SMITE’s growing roster.
In a previous update, SMITE added the cosmic Lovecraftian entity Cthulhu, adding to the game’s giant roster. Now, Tsukuyomi is the 111th deity and the third Japanese god alongside his brother and sister. Tsukuyomi takes on an assassin’s role in SMITE, but unlike many of the assassins, Tsukuyomi utilizes ranged abilities as well as melee attacks.
Tsukuyomi’s ultimate ability channels the power of the full moon and shoots four beams of light. Any enemies hit by the beams are marked and followed up with a fast dash attack. Tsukuyomi’s combination of dangerous ranged and melee abilities make him a worthy assassin. His ability to stun and slow gives him an advantage despite his lack of movement abilities like other assassins possess. Tsukuyomi’s brother Susano, is also an assassin, and has a unique Zuko skin from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The God of the Moon is now live and costs 11,000 favor or 200 gems to unlock.
SMITE is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
