One of the highest-rated yet criminally overlooked games of 2019 was Slay the Spire, a game that combines roguelike features with a deck-building experience. Initially only available for computers, Slay the Spire has since been ported to consoles and is now finally making its way to iOS devices later this month.
A specific release date for Slay the Spire hasn’t been announced beyond that it’s releasing this month. More information is expected to come at the Guerrilla Collective event, itself part of Summer Games Fest, so it’s possible that the exact release date will be announced on June 6. In the meantime, we can confirm that Slay the Spire on iOS will be basically identical to the versions of the game on other platforms, and it will cost $9.99.
As far as Android users go, no release window has been announced for Slay the Spire just yet. However, the game is expected to launch for Android devices as well by the end of 2020.
Slay the Spire has earned a great deal of praise, so it’s great to see the game come to more platforms. It was nominated for numerous end-year awards by a variety of organizations, including The Game Awards and the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, so iOS users should be excited to see what all the fuss is about later this month.
Slay the Spire is launching on iOS devices in June 2020 and is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
