Gaming Industry Pundit and frequent leak source Slasher appeared on HasanAbi’s twitch stream today to discuss the circumstances of Twitch’s Dr Disrespect ban, or rather, to discuss why he won’t discuss the circumstances of the ban.
Rod “Slasher” Breslau was the first and one of the only major players in the industry to come forward with information about the Dr Disrespect ban. Slasher claims to have first multiple first-hand accounts of the alleged transgressions despite the fact that even Doc himself has claimed he does not know why he was banned.
On Hasan’s stream, Slasher explained that would only reveal what he knows in the event that a publication could offer him legal indemnity. According to Slasher, sharing the information he has could put him at risk of being sued for defamation. As of yet, he has been unable to find a media outlet that will protect them. Slasher claims he has reached out to most of them and has either been told no or is still waiting for a response.
The other reason he is holding back what he knows is that he is not yet confident he has the complete story. He tells Hasan that the sequence of events is “murky” and that he is still trying to nail down the timeline. One thing he is clear about though: this is not a media stunt or a lead up to a platform change for Doc. Slasher referred “allegations” multiple times, indicating that Doc is accused of committing a crime. Confirming this is the fact that, according to Slasher, the ban was not handled by Twitch’s Trust and Safety department, which typically would handle bans on the platform for non-criminal offenses.
Earlier today, Dr Disrespect’s Twitter bio removed the link to his Twitch Page (which has been deleted) and replaced it with a link to his Youtube Channel. Doc also unfollowed 1 person, bringing his following count down from 502 to 501, though whether that was a legitimate unfollow or simply an account that was deleted/blocked him is unknown.
Rumors have been circulating thanks to comments made by Timthetatman and Dr. Lupo, but according to Slasher, neither streamer has talked to Dr Disrespect since his ban. We may be waiting a while yet before we find out what happened.
