There are a bunch of enemies in Skyrim that no adventurer could forget such as Skeevers and Mudcrabs. However, there are also a lot of hidden foes that attack rarely and are very deadly. This list will show players a few enemies that they may not have encountered throughout their adventurers so they can fight them on their next playthrough.
There are so many unique and rare enemies that it can be hard to count them all but this list will complete that task. From the Reaper to thieves, here are 10 hidden enemies in Skyrim that players missed!
10 Dragon Priests
There are so many of these priests scattered throughout Skyrim that it’s hard not to miss at least a few for the casual player. All of these ancient people have come back to guard tombs throughout the land from adventures seeking fortune.
The dragon priests are usually very difficult fights that most players need to attempt a few times to defeat. There are so many throughout the base game and the DLC so there’s no doubt that these were easily missed by lots of players.
9 Afflicted Remnants
Peryite is a powerful Daedric God that has cursed the land with her infected followers. She infects those that she wishes to control and they vomit a poisoning liquid to hurt their victims and make them submit.
There aren’t many enemies that are as rare of sight as this one which is why it earns its spot. These enemies aren’t worth fighting because they are very deadly towards the players and it’s probably best just to steer clear as they don’t have much to loot off their bodies.
8 Ghosts
They are a bunch of ghost people scattered throughout the game but they’re mostly in secluded places and it’s easy to miss all of the specters completely. They’re fun to fight and its no surprise because ghosts are always really cool regardless of the game.
Ghosts are powerful creatures and they’re worth a mention because a lot of players never run across any throughout their playthrough. They are far and few between the different dungeons of Skyrim and there aren’t nearly as many of them as there are Draugr or mages.
7 Dark Brotherhood Assassin
Every player has at least heard of the shadowy organization called the Dark Brotherhood but other than joining it most haven’t had contact with an assassin. If the player hasn’t joined the Brotherhood then NPCs can hire a Dark Brotherhood assassin to track down and attack the player.
This is a rare occurrence and a hired thing is much more likely to appear in a situation like this than a shadowy figure. Players should be careful not to kill civilians or they may be next on the list to kill.
6 Alik’r Warriors
These warriors from Hammerfell are somewhat rare throughout the game because there are few locations where they reside. There is a side quest that most players will come in contact with involving these enemies but most players don’t end up in a fight with them at any point in their playthrough.
Making the Alik’r warriors an enemy is never a smart idea because their curved weapons are extremely powerful and not worth the risk. Players should be careful not to make these rare foes angry because they are a large and powerful organization.
5 Thief
Thieves are an enemy that is similar to assassins. They appear to the player while they’re walking down roads and they will hold the player at knifepoint and threaten them.
Most players won’t give them anything and instead attempt to kill the thief instead of submitting to their request. This enemy can also be encountered by seeing them throughout cities while they’re breaking into houses. there are few more interesting enemies when compared to thieves and although they’re rare they’re really fun to fight!
4 Blood Horkers
The Blood Horkers are a group of bandits found within the land of Skyrim and they are stronger than the usual bandits because of their large number of members. Most enemies that are bandits or thugs don’t belong to a group so that’s why these guys are special.
They are rare and mostly only show up during one quest which is why they deserve their place on this list. There are a lot of them wherever they may be found so if the player plans on fighting them they should take a follower and maybe a dog for extra protection.
3 Reaper
The Reaper is a special enemy found only within the soul cairn. The Dawnguard DLC added a bunch of new enemies but this was definitely the strongest even when compared to Lord Harkon.
It’s difficult to get the chance to fight this enemy because there is a hidden set of tasks that the player must first complete. Although this tough guy is hidden and hard to find the fight is worth it for any player looking for a true challenge. Unfortunately few players get the chance to fight it.
2 Karstaag
Karstagg is the ghost of a frost giant from the Dragonborn DLC. Most enemies don’t require a quest through a cave to fight but that’s the only way to retrieve his skull which is required to battle it.
Karstagg has been known as the strongest enemy in the game and because of the obscure way of encountering it most players never get to fight the giant. At least it’s always there if players find out about it because players can return to the island Solstheim whenever they want.
1 The Ebony Warrior
The Ebony Warrior is the most powerful person to ever walk the land of Skyrim, at least before the Dragonborn he was. Defeating this foe will yield great rewards including a bunch of powerful weapons and armor.
As his name suggests he uses ebony equipment to fight and his gear is enchanted with powerful effects. He is the strongest human hands down in Skyrim and possibly the strongest person in any Elder Scrolls game to date. He does, unfortunately, require that the player is level 80 to fight which is why he is at the top of this list because only the most dedicated players make it to that level.
