It looks like Shy Guy will be present at Super Nintendo World when the theme park opens up.
Made in collaboration with Universal Studios, Super Nintendo World will be the first Mario theme park. Photos and videos have emerged as the magical land is slowly built, giving fans a look at how the park is being crafted to emulate the Mario experience. The grassland platforms and snow area appear to have jumped right out of the games. Bowser’s Castle has been realized in all its sinister glory. Simply put, Super Nintendo World appears to be turning a Mario fan’s dream into reality.
Super Nintendo World was originally planned to open this month, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Osaka park’s new opening date will be announced this fall. While waiting is never fun, it should be worth it. Super Nintendo World will be home to various popular Mario foes, including Goombas, Koopas, and Piranha Plants. Now, a new picture reveals another notable enemy.
A new Super Nintendo World photo (via fS_red346) shows a lone red Shy Guy in the park. In addition to this, other new pictures (via Alicia Stella) show the park lit up at night. Check them out below.
Shy Guy debuted in Super Mario Bros. 2, and would go on to become most associated with the Yoshi line of platformers. This is the first Shy Guy spotted at Super Nintendo World. It’s not known if he is the only one, or if there are other different-colored variants.
For the other pictures, they give a great look at how Super Nintendo World shines at night. Thwomp has some certainly creepy red lit eyes. One can also see the Mario Motors logo lit up. Out of everything at Super Nintendo World, the Mario Kart attraction is probably the most anticipated. Universal hyped the coming attraction as supremely immersive. Sadly, we still don’t know how the ride will operate. With the park’s delayed opening in Osaka, fans will continue to speculate. Assuming the ride truly emulates the Mario Kart experience, it will be something if one really feels the turmoil of getting struck by a Blue Shell.
