A week after Ninja returns to Twitch, Shroud announces he too will return to the streaming platform with an exclusive deal.

Mixer shut down a few months back, leaving us all to wonder what would happen to the platform’s star streamers, Ninja and Shroud? Ninja made his triumphant return to Twitch last week with an impromptu stream that single-handedly gave him his affiliate status back. And now we’re hearing about what Shroud has been up to.

Shroud has been radio silent since the Mixer shutdown. Although he reportedly made a cool $10 million when Microsoft offered to buy out his contract, Shroud hadn’t said a word on what he planned to do next. Then starting on July 30, some very sweet animations started showing up on Shroud’s Twitter account that made it clear that some sort of announcement was forthcoming.

That announcement happened just moments ago: Shroud is heading back to Twitch.

“As I was exploring options, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to engage with the best and most loyal gaming community worldwide,” said Shroud in a prepared statement. “I am so excited to be able to announce my return to Twitch and more importantly get back to streaming. Twitch is where I was able to first turn my passion for streaming into a successful career - and it is all due to my incredible and loyal fanbase.”

Before quitting Twitch for Mixer, the Canadian streamer had accumulated 7.1 million followers–most of whom seem to be quite excited for Shroud’s return, including one extremely unsettling broccoli. It looks like Shroud has retained those followers as he returns to Twitch along with a slick new logo.

The animations give us a clue as to what games we can expect Shroud to play. Call of Duty, VALORANT, Apex Legends, and of course, CS:GO all seem to be on Shroud’s docket.

According to a press release, Shroud has signed an exclusive arrangement with Twitch, so don’t expect to see any streams on YouTube or Facebook–unlike certain other streamers we could care to name, but won’t.
