Call of Duty Modern Warfare has hit its stride with recent content updates and the growing Warzone community. Over the course of each new season, players have had access to new weapons to run around Verdansk. From the speed demon that is the fennec to the beloved Grau, there are enough guns to fit the various playstyles of each player.
However, with any new weapon added, there is bound to be balance patches to help address any unfair advantages players may exploit. From the new Grau nerf to the infamous rocket launcher nerfs, there has been a lot of balance changes to the game. Whenever a balance patch is released, it is a sweeping change across Warzone and multiplayer, but should this continue? Should there be separate balance patches that address the various needs of Warzone and multiplayer?
Over on Reddit, user IamLevels chimed in with the following take:
Some commenters agreed with the call for separate balancing between each multiplayer mode, even asking for different weapon classes. Other players quickly countered, saying that there is enough gun variety that every gun serves its purpose, with its advantages and disadvantages that a call for separate balance changes would seem excessive. One commenter brought up the fact that in the previous COD Battle Royale Blackout, there were separate balance patches, and the weapon tuning worked just fine.
Some commenters even pointed out something overlooked by many: it’s not the guns that need separate balancing, but perks. For the most part, many perks are not worth equipping in Warzone due to the lack of significant advantage they give players running the meta perks of Ghost, EOD, or battle-hardened. Whether or not you agree about gun balancing, the perks in Warzone should get some addressing. Regardless of what comes in the future of Warzone, the developers have shown consistent support so players can rest easy knowing highly requested changes will arrive eventually.
