Shakedown: Hawaii, of all things, might very well be the last PlayStation 3 title to be released.
Vblank Entertainment’s open-world action game released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita last year, and is now apparently being ported to Sony’s PlayStation 3 - circa 2006. Why? Beats us. But you see, some things in life must just be accepted as they are, and this is one such thing.
On a similarly amusing note, Shakedown: Hawaii is also going to be launching on the Wii U and Nintendo Wii, both of course being consoles whose production has been variously discontinued. So for those of you still in the market for new Wii games, there you go.
Not only did Shakedown: Hawaii also got ported to the 3DS last year, but Vblank Entertainment did a similar thing with their previous game Retro City Rampage, when they released it for DOS and the PSP in 2012. Something tells us these developers enjoy being weird about the platforms they choose for their games, and presumably, seeing the rest of us puzzlingly scratch our heads in response.
But wait, there’s more cool news. For those of you who already own Shakedown: Hawaii on some or other PlayStation console, you will be able to get the new PS3 version absolutely free via cross-buy! Plus it’ll be possible to synchronize your saves between the two versions too.
