Devolver Digital has announced that Serious Sam 4 will come roaring onto the scene on September 24, 2020. Available for both PC and Stadia, the game was hit with a small delay from its originally scheduled August release window. As the press release states, Sam strafed to the finish line instead of running straight at it, so he got a little lost.
Still, that’s perfectly fine with all of the stuff releasing this month. An extra little wait will only mean the game ends up better than ever, which is all we can hope for. With the interesting “Legion” system spawning 10,000 enemies at once, I’d want everything to go off without a hitch instead of dying at the start.
It’s very interesting to see developer Croteam supporting Stadia so hard. The Serious Sam Collection came to the service not even a few months ago and now this eagerly anticipated sequel will be landing on Google’s platform before consoles. That’s a pretty big win, especially considering the lack of barriers Stadia has.
I don’t know if I’d ever want to play a shooter through a streaming service, but options are always appreciated. At least when a Kamikaze dude blows up in your face, you can blame it on network latency instead of your lack of spatial awareness.
