Much like its Dark Souls predecessors, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice offers players a sprawling, labyrinthine world to explore. From Sekiro’s Ashina Castle to the Sunken Valley, the sprawling Ashina region is filled with dark tunnels, deep reservoirs, sheer cliffs, and portals of inexplicable nature. For Sekiro and players alike, keeping track of how everything comes together is just another difficult challenge to overcome.
Where the in-game world map for Sekiro may fall short, the Redditor known as Ekurepu has visualized the map of Sekiro’s dozens of connected areas as a flowchart with each of its individual locations mapped out to capture their connecting paths. For the accomplished Sekiro player hoping to discover those final hidden areas, or for the new adventurer stuck with no apparent path forward, it’s the perfect resource.
Spoilers in the map should be assumed, as the Sekiro world map chart covers the entirety of the game’s explorable regions. It also goes one step further, noting the location of each and every Sekiro boss and mini-boss throughout the world. No specific names are mentioned, however. That may make it more difficult to keep track of what Sekiro bosses the player has defeated or not, but it’s better than nothing, and can at least provide guidance towards major milestones.
Perhaps the best aspect of this Sekiro world map is that it doesn’t spoil how to get from one area to another. Players will still have to explore even with this resource at hand. They will have to uncover the game’s secrets just like every other player, just with a bit of awareness regarding when they’ve gone too far, or not far enough.
There’s so much more to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice than a map of any form can capture, but a map can be a priceless resource. After all, From Software RPGs from the Dark Souls franchise have been both criticized and celebrated for their lack of structured progression. Some people flourish in each game’s freedom, while others struggle. Yet with every game’s release, Sekiro included, the games’ community comes together to offer resources as necessary to ensure all players can find success as they’re able.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
