Sea of Thieves continues to maintain it’s growing playerbase as Xbox’s next-generation console arrives. Rare’s Sea of Thieves on Xbox Series X is receiving quite the graphical and performance overhaul thanks to the console’s improved hardware.
Additionally, players who have got plans to play Sea of Thieves on the Xbox Series X/S have another treat in store. The official Sea of Thieves Twitter revealed that next-gen console owners can receive a free ship set themed after Xbox’s Duke controller.
Anyone who has owned the original Duke Xbox controller knows just how iconic the bulky controller is. There are some gaming veterans who look back and think The Duke’s design doesn’t make sense, but even if they are right it can’t be denied that The Duke is one of the most memorable controllers ever. Now, Sea of Thieves’ new ship theme carries on its legacy by adorning players’ ships with the Xbox “X” in vibrant green. Additionally, the sales and various accents across the sheep are dark black, just like The Duke.
There are plenty of themed ship sets in Sea of Thieves that represent various Xbox or Rare properties like Battletoads and Halo. However, none of them scream “Xbox” quite like this new Duke theme. The theme is exclusive to both the Xbox Series X and S, so players on Xbox One won’t be able to receive this ship set. The Duke set can be claimed in the Shipwright’s chest whenever a next-gen console player logs into the game between November 10, 2020 and May 9, 2021.
Sea of Thieves is out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
