Sea Of Thieves Season 2 is now live, offering a wealth of new content. There are new ways to serve the Merchant Alliance for those looking to earn some quick gold, as well as some new events across the ocean. Here’s everything you need to know about Sea Of Thieves Season 2.

Merchant Alliance Trade Routes

Trade Routes have been formed across the Sea Of Thieves, allowing you to buy raw materials and transport them to different islands to make a quick profit. There are a variety of materials to buy, including gemstones, sugar, and spices.

To start trading, head over to the Merchant Alliance trader on any Outpost and enquire about their goods. You will be able to buy some materials, but only if you are working for the Merchant Alliance as an Emissary.

Next to the Merchant Alliance trader, you will find a small book. Interact with it to open up a charter, which will inform you of the best places to trade your goods. It will let you know what each Outpost needs more of, as well as which materials they have in surplus. This will change each week, so make sure to check back often.

Purchasable Resources

For many players, stocking up on resources is the first step every time they play Sea Of Thieves. You would have to run around your starting outpost whilst searching barrels for anything useful. Now, this is much easier, as you can buy crates of supplies from the Merchant Alliance.

You can buy crates of fruit, cannonballs, and wooden planks. Fruit and wood crates cost 3500 gold each, whilst cannonballs cost 5000. All of these crates come fully stocked with 50 items. The catch here is that you can only buy one of each crate from a specific outpost before they run out. It will take three in-game days for an outpost to regenerate its stock.

Fortunately, Outposts don’t share stock, so you can just sail between different islands to buy more. This is especially helpful if you are sailing with a larger crew on a Galleon, as you will use up supplies quicker. You can also buy empty storage crates, which you can fill with whatever you want.

Forts Of Fortune

Those who consider themselves veteran pirates can attempt the new Fort Of Fortune World Event. This is the toughest challenge yet in Sea Of Thieves, involving an intense battle against 18 waves of Skeletons.

To distinguish it from other wave-based activities, the Fort Of Fortune includes more Captains and Skeletons throughout the initial 15 waves. Then, players will face off against powerful Skeleton Lords, before battling the Ashen Lord.  Defeating the Ashen Lord will grant you access to the Fort Of Fortune Vault, where you can find your rewards.

Pirates who manage to complete the Fort Of Fortune will be rewarded with some exceptional loot. You can get a Chest of Legends, as well as Kegs of Ancient Black Powder, Crates of Legendary Voyages, Villainous Skulls of Ancient Fortune, and Gilded Relics of Ancient Fortune. All of these rewards will give you Athena’s Fortune reputation, making them incredibly valuable.

You will also earn Stronghold rewards, as well as some more commonplace crates, chests, and mermaid gems. The Fort Of Fortune is certainly a lucrative adventure for those brave enough to take it on.

New Emissary Improvements

To help introduce new players to becoming an Emissary, there is now an Emissary Tutorial available whenever you speak to a trader at an Outpost. This will explain how to become an Emissary, and show how it can be a lucrative endeavor.

There are plenty of reasons to become an Emissary too. Not only will you be able to get stuck into the new event, but you will also earn new Emissary Ledger rewards in Season 2. These are rewards that you earn for each Faction depending on how much gold you earn as their Emissary.

Ledger rewards will change over the season, so check them often in the Reputation menu.

Reapers Vs The World

From April 22nd-June 22, players can take part in the Reapers Vs The World event. This will pit the Reapers against a different faction every fortnight.

The faction will be revealed via a mysterious note that each player will receive every two weeks during the event. Then, it’s down to you to decide whether you serve that faction by doing tasks for them, or join the Reapers in hunting them down.

Those who side with the faction could earn alliance-themed rewards, such as the Gold Hoarders Lantern, Order of Souls Spyglass, and Merchant Alliance Compass.

However, players who join The Reaper’s Bones will earn a cosmetic reward. This reward depends on which Faction the Reapers attack the most during the event.

Season 2 Plunder Pass

Every new season in Sea Of Thieves brings a new Plunder Pass, which includes 100 tiers of cosmetic rewards that you will earn whilst playing. You can purchase the new pass for 999 Ancient Coins if you want to get everything, but there are plenty of free rewards, such as the Ocean Deep and Lucky Hand cosmetic sets.

Pirate Legend is a title rewarded to players that reach level 50 in three factions in Sea Of Thieves. If you are a Pirate Legend, or attain the title during Season 2 and reach level 100 of the Plunder Pass, you will get the Shackled Phantom Hull as a reward. You don’t need to buy the Plunder Pass to earn this, but those who aren’t Pirate Legend will not receive it.

Trials have also been refreshed, so there are plenty of new challenges that you can complete to level up the Plunder Pass quickly, ensuring that you earn all the new rewards before the season ends in June.
