First Volition gave us a Steam release on May 22. Then a leaked trophy list hinted at an upcoming PlayStation 5 release. Now, Volition has come clean with its next-gen plans.
Saints Row The Third Remastered heads to Xbox Series X and PS5 on May 25.
As expected, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the remastered Saints Row game will enjoy a smooth 60 FPS at a dynamic 4K resolution. If you’re gaming on the Xbox Series X, then you’ll be able to lock in those 60 frames at 1080p, or lock-in that 4K resolution at 30 FPS. Either way, you’ll get much faster loading times thanks to the solid-state hard drives on both consoles.
PS5 owners get a special treat for their DualSense controller in the form of a Saints Purple glow.
Of course, both versions will also have the same range of improvements over the original game, including enhanced lighting, better models and textures, HDR support, and all the expansion story DLCs and costume packs.
PC gamers won’t be left in the dust by the next-gen release. Along with releasing on both Steam and GoG on May 22, Volition confirmed that the PC release of Saints Row The Third Remastered will come with Ultra settings, which removes the caps on everything. Shoot for as many frames as your video card can render at ultra-high def before it melts.
Despite being a decade old, Saints Row The Third still holds up even to this day–at least, according to our review from Bella last year. The visual enhancements are nice, but the real draw is for the open-world mayhem and the insane story. And certain instruments of destruction that double as tools of pleasure, of course.
