Banjo and Kazooie.
The rumor started in a ResetEra thread that was discussing the release of a new Banjo-Kazooie controller holder that is being developed by Exquisite Games. In the thread, ResetEra admin shinobi602 left a comment saying “Been a while since we saw Banjo in anything. Hope we’re in for a smashing good time.” This user has a history of correct predictions in threads, as chronicled by a Reddit user named Kewl0210 in a post on the r/smashbros subreddit.
According to Kewl0210, shinobi602 leaked correct information concerning God of War’s setting and his given accurate information concerning Destiny 2, Gears of War 4, and Spider-Man (via GameXplain.)
Banjo and Kazooie are two characters that fans have wanted to see in Super Smash Bros. for a while now and the fact that Microsoft owns Rare doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore, as Nintendo thanked Microsoft for helping to bring Cuphead to the Switch. It’s possible that a new Banjo-Kazooie game is in development and that Microsoft is allowing the pair to appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a promotional tool to introduce the characters to a new audience.
