While there is certainly an abundance of rumors circulating around the next game in the series - thought to be entitled Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War - not much is confirmed at this point. As this rumored title suggests, there’s a chance that the game will be some kind of Black Ops reboot or sequel, but obviously it’s still all hypothetical.
The latest talk is surrounding the potential reintroduction of a skill-based matchmaking system in this next installment, as suggested by Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson yesterday on Twitter. He claims the following:
The next Call of Duty title will have [skill-based matchmaking]. If you think that Treyarch will remove it, you’re wrong… Mainly because it isn’t the developers that decide this type of stuff.
