A fresh rumor has surfaced on Twitter revealing that the next Call of Duty game is going to be called Black Ops: Cold War.

Twitter user Okami (who has released some other rumors previously that actually turned out to be accurate) tweeted out a picture yesterday suggesting the next Call of Duty game is destined to be so-called Black Ops: Cold War.

It’s been suggested that the next game will be set during the Cold War era, and will somehow be connected to the Black Ops world.

One look at the image Okami tweeted out and you’ll notice it’s absolutely not the actual cover art for the upcoming game, being the Black Ops cover art with a somewhat uninspired “Cold War” tacked onto the bottom. Activision has yet to release any official announcements on the matter, so needless to say things are still somewhat up in the air.

There has been a pattern, though, of Call of Duty games getting announced around May. What with a reveal event held in May 2018 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Modern Warfare having been revealed at the end of May 2019, and similar trends in the past, we aren’t surprised that there are rumblings afoot.
