With E3 2019 only three weeks away, the rumors surrounding the games that will be shown during the expo are starting to come in fast and furious. Indeed, one of the latest of these rumors focuses on Halo Infinite, a highly anticipated game that is still shrouded in a great deal of mystery. For those that are most excited about the title, this new rumor may be of particular interest, as it claims to reveal one very important detail: the Halo Infinite release window.

Specifically, the rumor states that the Halo Infinite release date will come during the 2020 holiday season, and it is further indicated that the title will be a cross-gen release, something that has been claimed in previous rumors as well. It is said that these details will be officially revealed at E3 2019, and this Halo Infinite “leak” comes as part of a larger Microsoft E3 2019 press conference leak, which looks to detail the entirety of what the company will share at the expo.

This Halo Infinite leak originated on NeoGAF, a popular forum for video game discussion, and it must thus be approached with a great deal of skepticism. That said, it does seem like a plausible Halo Infinite rumor due to several factors.

First, it has been officially confirmed that Halo Infinite will be shown at E3 2019, so there is, at least, verification that the title will be part of the show. Certainly, this does not confirm that the Halo Infinite release date will be one of the details that is shared, but it does establish that reveal as something that could occur.

Additionally, many of the previous titles in the Halo franchise have had November releases, just before the beginning of the holiday season. As such, it is reasonable to expect the Halo Infinite release date to occur in a similar timeframe.

Furthermore, if next generation consoles arrive in time for the holidays of 2020, which some believe will be the case, and it is true that Halo Infinite is a cross-gen game, then this timing makes further sense. Fortunately for those that really want to know if the leak is accurate, E3 2019 is just around the corner, meaning that they do not have to wait much longer to get confirmation on this Halo Infinite rumor.

Halo Infinite is in development for PC and Xbox One.
