Cyberpunk 2077 just might make its first public unveiling at this year’s E3.

Nearly a week since we saw the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter feed make its first noise in 4 years, rumors are swirling that the game will have a playable demo featured at E3 this June. This means that game is much further along than a total lack of screenshots and trailers would have led anyone to believe.

The news comes from anonymous sources speaking to Polish gaming site GRYOnline. Luckily, Google does an excellent job of translating Polish, so we can get the broad strokes. Of course, the site is quick to point out that there’s been no official announcement from the game’s developers, CD Projekt RED, so there’s no guarantee that anyone will be able to play the game at E3.

In fact, as VG247 points out, it’s likely the developers will follow the same pattern they exhibited with The Witcher 3, which gave a shiny new trailer to wow the crowd while game journalists and industry insiders got their hands on the playable demo.

However, it looks like even game journalists don’t have the kind of pull Sony has. According to YouTuber LegacyKillahHD, Sony Execs got their hands on an early development version of the game. Once again fed by anonymous sources, the YouTuber said that Sony was interested in how Cyberpunk’s brand new engine would work on PlayStation hardware.

What the source failed to mention was whether or not Sony was interested in how it worked on the existing PlayStation 4 or the upcoming PlayStation 5.

The video also has a bunch of still images from inside CD Projekt RED’s studio that was leaked last year, and most notably one image of a wall filled with high-tech looking armaments that are likely to be modeled in the game itself.

To say Cyberpunk 2077 is highly anticipated is a bit of an understatement as the game was first announced way back in 2013. With news that a playable demo might be unveiled at 2018’s E3 conference, it looks like the wait might be finally coming to an end.
