Music has always been a big part of the GTA franchise, from its various nightclubs to the iconic radio stations that are always the best part of every new iteration. Music was a huge feature of the latest update in GTA Online, The Cayo Perico Heist, and now Rockstar Games is taking a monumental step into the music industry by announcing its own record label, CircoLoco Records.
Some of you might have already heard of the name CircoLoco. What got started as a series of underground after-hours dance parties on the island of Ibiza has since grown into an international affair, with dance parties hosted in pretty much every major metropolis on the globe. Featuring music from up-and-coming DJs and artists, CircoLoco has become a brand unto itself with links to art, fashion, and of course, music.
With Rockstar, CircoLoco now reaches into the video game industry. CircoLoco Records will release its debut EP on June 4, with a brand new EP coming each week leading up to the release of a compilation album, Monday Dreamin’, coming in July.
Monday Dreamin’ Blue EP, the first of four EPs, will feature tracks from Sama’ Abdulhadi, Kerri Chandler, Rampa, and Seth Troxler, alongside a new Dixon remix of Deichkind’s “Autonom.” You can expect even more “contributions from some of the visionaries and icons from every era of CircoLoco’s greatest parties” in every EP, as well as rising artists in the underground dance scene.
Monday Dreamin’ arrives on July 9. You can pre-order the full album now on iTunes and get a preview of the EP on Spotify. And yes, you’ll be able to get it in vinyl.
With Rockstar helming this endeavor, it seems almost certain that the music you hear on Monday Dreamin’ will eventually find its way into GTA Online’s next major update. The Cayo Perico Heist featured a ton of dance tunes that were perfect for the setting, so whatever you hear on Monday Dreamin’ could be a preview for what’s to come in GTA.
