After almost a decade of continuously adding songs, Ubisoft’s Rocksmith will no longer release DLC.

Many of us remember Rockband and Guitar Hero from their heyday back in the late 2000s, but there was another music game that arrived on the scene shortly afterward that did things a little differently. Rather than have the player merely ape the actions of an actual musician using a toy guitar, this game actually tried to teach you how to play using a real-life instrument.

That game was called Rocksmith, and since its release in 2011, it’s taught thousands of people how to play guitar without any formal training. Now, almost a decade later, Ubisoft San Francisco has announced that they will no longer support Rocksmith with downloadable content, effectively capping this teaching game’s library at 1,570 songs.

“For over a decade, we’ve watched players learn, grow, and constantly surprise us with your talent, creativity, and eagerness to help one another reach your goals,” wrote Ubisoft San Francisco in their Friday news update. “We truly could not be more proud to play a part in this guitar journey with you.”

Although no new DLC is planned, the Rocksmith development team will still hold regular development streams. They’re also working on a brand new project, the details of which will be released at a later date
