Rocket Arena from EA launched to somewhat mixed reviews, but some have found a lot to like about the unique shooter. Now Rocket Arena fans have some new content to look forward to, as EA and Final Strike Games have detailed exactly what they can expect from the game’s first season.
Rocket Arena Season 1 starts on July 28, bringing with it the game’s first battle pass (or “Blast Pass”) and a brand new character. As seen in the Rocket Arena Season 1 trailer, new character Flux is joining the roster on July 28, with the ability to travel to a different dimension and attack enemies with a black hole shaped like a cat head. Flux will be available to everyone, whereas the bulk of the new cosmetic content for existing characters will only be available to those that purchase the Blast Pass.
Later in Rocket Arena Season 1, fans can look forward to a few new maps set on the game’s Crater world. Namely, Rocket Arena is adding the Lagoon of Doom, pirate-themed Grand Harbor, and the Kayo Kanyon maps. A specific release date for Kayo Kanyon wasn’t revealed, but it seems as though Lagoon of Doom and Grand Harbor will be added to Rocket Arena beginning August 12.
Rocket Arena’s lore will also be expanded in the new season through the form of Mythic Events. The first is the Crystal Reef Mythic Event, themed after Amphora, and the other is the Fort Rocket Mythic Event, which will be all about Topnotch. Fans can look forward to new story details about these characters being revealed when these Rocket Arena Mythic Events go live, plus they will have the opportunity to unlock exclusive new outfits as well.
And finally, Rocket Arena Season 1 will also feature the Blast in Paradise LTM. This LTM will run from August 12 to August 25, and it will add special challenges, six new playlists, new cosmetics, and more. It’s implied by the trailer that the Blast in Paradise LTM will also see the addition of the new Rocket Arena maps Lagoon of Doom and Grand Harbor, and they will stay in the game once the LTM is over.
Anyone that wants to try the game’s Season 1 content will need to pay $30, as there is currently no free-to-play version of Rocket Arena available. It’s possible that will change down the line, but for now, those that have purchased Rocket Arena can see everything Season 1 has to offer.
Rocket Arena is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
