Developer Final Strike Games has announced a limited-time Runaway Megadon Event for Rocket Arena, the third-person shooter that was launched earlier this year.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 9 and running through September 22, players will visit Rocket Arena character Boone’s home region of The Wilds on a hunt for a magnificent Megadon, which has gone missing. The event will give players the opportunity to enjoy new map modes, event playlists, and some other goodies.

In addition to having the chance to test their solo skills in the new Duel game mode and enjoying the new playlists Megamuzzle and Splat, the Runaway Megadon event introduces an entirely new Rocket Arena map called Kayo Kanyon, an abandoned location that features rickety tracks, a water tower, mining tunnels, and a tar pit filled with ancient Megadon bones and rockets.

Gamers who log into the Megadon event on consecutive days will also receive some free and exclusive rewards from the Rocket Rail Line, such as the Megadon Adventure, Boone, Rugged Rocks Totem Pattern, Rocket Rail Caboose Totem Symbol, and the Fossilized Megablast VFX Trail.

When it was released, Rocket Arena received mostly positive reviews, with players praising the gameplay, characters and graphics, but bemoaning the lack of content. The Megadon Event, while available only for a limited time, may temporarily fill the content gap that gamers were hoping for. And it possibly serves as a precursor for additional events in the future.

Rocket Arena is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
