Rocket Arena is here, and new players are having a blast exploring all the different artifact loadouts to create the best character builds, from high damage builds, high speed builds, or some other combination of abilities. Here, we will build out three different loadouts for Jayto to kickstart maximizing this player’s abilities with some great artifact boosts, which should improve the base abilities he comes with, and then match different situations and playstyles. For the ranked mode don’t forget to equip artifacts before getting started!

Ten different characters and ten different maps are available at launch, with an aggressive rollout to support additional characters, maps, and game modes in the coming weeks. Jayto is the reigning champion of the arena and deserves your attention early on. He is from Boom City, and has a killer rocket suit that lends itself to both offensive and defensive play, and is well suited for most all-around players. His base abilities include Skypiercer Rockets, Rocket Swarm, and the Thruster Suit, highlighted a bit more in the video below. Given these abilities, below we highlight a high DPS build, a Defensive build, and a speed build.

High DPS Build

Jayto lends himself to high damage builds, with a fast playstyle that allows rapid and high count combinations. For many players, there is a choice between cooldown of specials and raw damage output, but for Jayto, raw damage will be king to see a maximum boost for this already quick-playing hero. The Blastbird is a staple, adding raw damage to every hit, where the Unstable Canister gets Jayto access to more damage the higher the blast meter, up to 8%. Finally, we add the Boom Bit, so every KO achieved adds a little more damage, and with Jayto, there will be many KOs.

First Artifact - Blastbird - Deal 3% more damage

Second Artifact - Unstable Canister - Deal more damage the higher your blast meter, up to 8%

Third Artifact - Boom Bit - KOs boost damage by 8% for 8 seconds

Defensive Build

What if you want to play Jayto as a defensive character, could that work? Absolutely! The key here is to build off of Jayto’s default playstyle and enhance with artifacts that let him absorb, dodge, and avoid damage. First, the Hunter’s Idol provides direct damage reductions, a must for a defensive build. The Coldsnap Locket increases the dodge radius by 100%, which is incredible considering the dodge range was large to begin with. Finally, the Frosty Thermometer helps reset the dodge cooldown when in Megablast danger.

First Artifact - Hunter’s Idol - Decreases damage and impulse received by 10%

Second Artifact - Coldsnap Locket - Dodge radius increased by 100%

Third Artifact - Frosty Thermometer - Dodge cooldown reduced while in Megablast danger for 2.5 seconds

Speed Build

Jayto is fast, but, maybe it would be fun to make him even faster? If you’re ready to blast off, the below build will take care of you. First, start out with that Gemstone Elixir to increase his already impressive ground speed. The Boost Capacitor gives an increase to his airspeed, and the Zephry Vest helps him jump back into the fight in the rare chance he is knocked out.

First Artifact - Gemstone Elixir - Ground movement speed increased 15%

Second Artifact - Boost Capacitor - Air movement speed increased by 10%

Third Artifact - Zephyr Vest - Move 40% faster after arena returns for 6 seconds

These builds will ensure quick success with Jayto, and are more than worth your efforts to try out as you begin your Rocket Arena career.
