If you have checked out Rocket Arena since launch, then no doubt you have run into some devastating blows from Boone and his long-range attacks. Boone definitely gives off a bit of the Chris Pratt vibe a la Jurassic Park, but certainly comes with a few additional tricks up his sleeve for Rocket Arena. Boone hails from The Wilds, home to the long-extinct Megadon, however, his winged companion Zik suggests that dinosaurs may not be so extinct. Boone seems to think so as well, and is on a quest to find his very own Megadon. Armed with his rifle and Zik, Boone is definitely worth checking out when heading into the Arena.

Boone’s unique abilities include Blunderblast, Megadon Scope, and Zik’s Vortex. He actually feels a little bit like Blastbeard although the sniping secondary adds a unique twist. In the video above, you can see Boone in action on the Star of Crater map. Boone’s Megadon scope can be almost continuously used, making those with great aim a terrific threat in the arena. Based on his abilities, below we suggest a High Damage Build, a Jump Build to help get him into the best sniping locations, and a suggested best All-Around Build to harness the best combinations of artifacts for him.

High Damage Build

Boone is one of the few very clear long-range snipers in Rocket Arena. Despite this, he hasn’t seemed overly popular in the week following launch, which is too bad considering his incredible ability to control the battlefield from a distance. To maximize his impact, we recommend starting with the damage increasing Blastbird. While some might jump around a bit with Boone, thus far, our most successful rounds with Boone have been from afar and ideally upon a perch somewhere high, thus the Powder Keg makes a viable second artifact. Boone should be getting a lot of KOs, helping teammates who get the enemies warmed up, thus the Boom Bit is the obvious third artifact choice.

First Artifact - Blastbird - Deal 3% more damage

Second Artifact - Powder Keg - Deal 8% more damage on the ground

Third Artifact - Boom Bit - KOs boost damage by 8% for 8 seconds

Jump Build

Some of Boone’s best attacks are going to come from afar, and from high, but unfortunately, little Zik can’t properly lift him to all of his desired locations. By augmenting Boone’s jumping abilities, players just might be able to rack up some serious combo and killstreaks. To reach for the sky, first equip the Axial Fan. Next, Berno’s Belt will provide direct vertical height boosting which is essential for the task at hand. Finally, the Juking Jukebox will add just a little bit more jumping strength to those who can keep going in the same direction.

First Artifact - Axial Fan - Jump strength increased by 30%

Second Artifact - Berno’s Belt - Ground jump height increased by 30%

Third Artifact - Juking Jukebox - Jump strength increased 10% when moving same direction

All Around Build

Pure damage, jumping, speed, or even dodge builds are helpful in many situations, but for players who decide to equip Boone as their main, we’ve got an all-around build for you below. For the first artifact, equip the Axial Fan to improve Boone’s jump strength a staggering 30 percent. Second, the Unstable Canister will increase damage so long as Boone can stay active in the fight. Last, add the Boom Bit to your arsenal, making each successful KO a damage boost.

Second Artifact - Unstable Canister - Deal more damage the higher your blast meter, up to 8%

These builds may not help Boone find the long lost Megadon, but may help him achieve the Arena Trophy.
