Mobile games sure do love royalty. Who hasn’t seen an ad or two for Kingdom Clash or Game of Sultans? Well, get ready for another monarchist mobile game, because Kingdomtopia: The Idle King is hitting iOS and the Google Play Store on September 8th.

Kingdomtopia is produced by Joyseed Gametribe, also known as the developers of Rocky Rampage: Wreck ‘em Up, which is a runner following a tighty whitey-wearing hero who sprints through maps to reclaim his beloved Wonderpants. Kingdomtopia, while seemingly devoid of underwear, promises plenty of anthropomorphized animal characters for players to become endeared to.

The game follows Prince Snow, a snow leopard (if you couldn’t guess) who wakes up from a very long nap to find their father dead and their entire kingdom—Kingdomtopia—destroyed. Prince Snow ascends to the throne and starts working to restore the kingdom to its former glory alongside Pug, their trusty advisor.

Players will be able to interact with important citizens as Prince Snow rebuilds the capital city. Said citizens include a Hen with a farm, a rabbit in the entertainment business, and a now-staple of the gaming industry, a shady merchant. These citizens will contribute to the rebuilding effort, allowing Prince Snow to renovate various districts in the city and progress the storyline.

In addition to Kingdomtopia’s restoration efforts, Prince Snow will also need to juggle their dead father’s ghost, periodic invasions from the enemy kingdom, and interacting with members of Kingdomtopia society, who… aren’t too impressed that they slept through an entire war. Needless to say, that’s a lot for players to handle! Luckily, Kingdomtopia is an idle game, so players can passively accumulate resources and money even while offline. Furthermore, players can also hire mayors to manage and collect taxes, leaving them free to do other things in-game.

Kingdomtopia is currently available for preorder on both Google Play and iOS. Like most mobile games, while Kingdomtopia is free-to-play, players will be given the option to use in-app purchases to progress faster. Build, collect taxes, and build some more when September 8th rolls around!
