It has been three months since Capcom released the multiplayer game Resident Evil Resistance alongside the remake of Resident Evil 3. As previously announced during its roadmap for Resident Evil Resistance last April, the multiplayer game just got a new map and a wide variety of new skins for players to enjoy.

In a new video released by Capcom, the Japanese video game publisher and developer unveiled the new map, which will take players into a new Prison stage, complete with all the features that are expected of an abandoned maximum security facility. Throughout the Prison map in Resident Evil Resistance, players will find run-down jail cells, a creepy basement, and a laundry facility. To make the experience worse for players, the stage’s lighting is brought to a minimum, so players can expect a terrifying encounter with either Nemesis or Mr. X in this stage.

Apart from the new Prison map, Resident Evil Resistance’s new update also brought in tons of new skins for players to explore. These new cosmetic items include colorful weapons alongside quirky costumes such as animal suits, which will definitely bring a hilarious contrast to the terrifying environment and situation that players will find themselves in. Shortly after Resident Evil Resistance’s release, Capcom added Jill Valentine to the list of Survivors, which is a nice tie-in to Resident Evil 3 where Jill is the main protagonist.

To balance it out, Nikolai Ginovaef was also included in the roster of Masterminds last May. To the uninitiated, Nikolai is a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS) and served as the game’s primary antagonist who is on a mission to collect combat data during the Raccoon City incident. Additionally, he almost succeeded in preventing the escape of Jill and Carlos from Raccoon City, making him the perfect candidate for Resident Evil Resistance’s twisted Masterminds.

Now, all eyes are on what Capcom plans to do next with the Resident Evil franchise. At the time of writing, there is still no official word from Capcom on whether the next game in the franchise will be another remake or a sequel to Resident Evil 7. However, several rumors about Resident Evil 8 has been rampant online, and many sources claim that Capcom will officially reveal the next installment in today’s PlayStation 5 event. Of course, if Capcom announces Resident Evil 8 today, it would be interesting to know key information about the game such as its protagonist and release date.

Resident Evil Resistance is out now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
