The Resident Evil 3 remake is out in the wild today and letting everyone re-experience the horror that is Nemesis. It may not be the most faithful of recreations, but the game does have some neat bonuses going for it. One of those is the multiplayer component, Resident Evil Resistance.

As noted before launch, RE3 star Jill Valentine will be making her way to Resistance as a playable character in a future update. By future, Capcom meant two weeks after release. In the launch trailer for the main campaign, it was announced that Jill will be added to the roster of the multiplayer mode on April 17, 2020.

That’s a lot earlier than expected, but it’s also kind of odd. Why even hold off on making Jill playable? Her character model is already there. Still, it is a free update and it’s not like you have to unlock her by doing challenges. Jill will just become selectable on the 17th and you can make jokes about becoming a sandwich to all of your friends.

The “Jill sandwich” thing is still funny, right? That’s about the only material I have to go with for this game. Wait, I could have gone with “master of unlocking.” Damn!
