Resident Evil 3 and its accompanying multiplayer mode Resident Evil Resistance are fast-approaching their official release date, and Capcom has finally made the open beta for Resistance available to PC and PS4 users following a brief delay.

The Resident Evil Resistance beta was actually supposed to drop for all three platforms (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) on March 27, and it did, but there were apparently so many issues with the PC and PS4 versions that Capcom pulled the plug. Altogether, players only got several hours with the beta before Capcom disabled it, promising an update soon.

Now, it seems Capcom has arrived at the aforementioned update: the open Resident Evil Resistance beta is once again live on all platforms, and it’ll run until Resident Evil 3 launched on April 3. The news broke over Twitter, when game director Al Yang shared it on his page, while also adding that players need to make sure they have the latest update installed before they play the beta. Resident Evil Resistance is the multiplayer component to RE3, wherein players star as a group of survivors trying to escape a deadly facility full of traps and monsters.

Originally, Resident Evil Resistance was announced as a completely standalone title but then was revealed to be a free addition to Resident Evil 3 when the latter was unveiled in January. Consequentially, purchasing Resident Evil 3 is the only way to get Resident Evil Resistance as well.

The polished beta is arriving just a few days before Resident Evil 3’s release, but at least players get some time with it beforehand as promised.

Resident Evil 3 releases on April 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
