The Resident Evil series has an impressive cast of characters who all share the spotlight. However, special attention has to be given to Jill Valentine, who was one of the two playable protagonists of the 1996 debut entry along with Chris Redfield.

After the classic that started it all, she was the main character of Resident Evil 3 and its remake, along with once again starring alongside Chris in the renowned spin-off Resident Evil: Revelations. As is the case with any video game character, Jill dons different outfits throughout her appearances, the best of which are showcased below. They’re not all practical, but they are all stylish.

10 Resident Evil 3

If we were prepping to brave a zombie-infested Raccoon City, the last thing we’d wear is a skirt and a tank top. Exposed legs and shoulders are prime for zombie bites, which is a one way ticket to zombification. Maybe it was warm the day of the incident. Even with the commotion surrounding the outbreak, she still had time to accessorize with a sweater wrapped around her waist. All the same, the look is perhaps the most iconic outfit Jill has worn. While it changed for the remake, you can still change into it as a bonus.

9 Resident Evil 5

When Resident Evil 5 starts, Chris and the player think Jill is dead. However, it turns out she was brainwashed by Albert Wesker. We’d take a little a brainwashing if it meant we got to wear the cool one piece Jill sports in the fifth mainline title. It was also cool to see her for the first time in a new game since Resident Evil 3 in 1999, though she was also the star of the Resident Evil remake for the GameCube. She was also a boss fight, though she lives through the ordeal.

8 Regina

Dino Crisis is closely connected to Resident Evil. Not only is the gameplay similar, but the first game was directed by Shinji Mikami, director of the 1996 debut entry, the remake, and Resident Evil 4. In Resident Evil 3, players can even dress Jill up as Regina.

Once the outfit is worn, which is unlocked in the original game after beating the campaign, Jill is unrecognizable. If Dino Crisis ever comes back, the series should return the favor and let Regina dress up as Jill.

7 Disco

Resident Evil 3 has a slew of outfits available to Jill after beating the game. Disco is one of the more unique costumes for the protagonist. The white suit and pants is an especially stylish look. It is also more protective than the regular outfit, though at the end of the day a zombie’s bite can also tear through whatever cl0th the outfit is made out of. We wonder if any night clubs are open during the outbreak.

6 Resident Evil 3 Remake

Some people complained about Jill’s new look when Resident Evil 3’s remake revealed itself to the public. At the end of the day, however, it makes more sense to have a pair of jeans during an outbreak. Imagine how messed up your legs and knees would be after crawling and rolling through the dirty Raccoon City streets and subways wearing a skirt. It also remains faithful to the original outfit’s color scheme, remaining recognizable as Resident Evil 3.

5 S.T.A.R.S.

In the original Resident Evil her outfit looks a little plain. It is like she is wearing a plain light blue sweater with shoulder pads. The remake adds a few more nuances to spice it up. The shoulder pads are still there, however, and they do look a little silly. Jill seems to think so too, since she has bare shoulders in Resident Evil 3. They definitely protect against zombies, though, since the monsters tend to go for the shoulders. The beret truly completes the look.

4 Resident Evil: Revelations

Resident Evil: Revelations, a spin-off first made for the Nintendo 3DS, was considered better than many of the mainline entries released at a similar time; mainly Resident Evil 6. Jill’s outfit is particularly notable for the many straps.

There is a place for the knife, a utility belt, a place for a pistol on her upper leg, and then another strap around her upper body. It is a little ridiculous, but at least it adds plausibility to the inventory.

3 BSAA Outfit

Even though she is not playable in the main Resident Evil 5 story, she is one of the heroes of the DLC, Lost in Nightmares. During this story segment, she wears combat ready attire. It makes sense, too. This is the first time she is on the offensive and as a part of the BSAA, she had the time to fully prepare herself for the assault. It is just a shame it ends with her being thrown out a window.

2 Biker Outfit Resident Evil 3

The Biker Outfit from Resident Evil 3 shows a different side of Jill Valentine. She looks less like a well-trained soldier who can take on hordes of zombies and more like a character from The Lost and Damned, the single-player DLC from Grand Theft Auto 4. If she cannot kill zombies with a gun, then she’ll surely knock them out with her style. The red belt is also a nice touch.

1 Pirate Jill

One of the bonus outfits from Resident Evil: Revelations is a pirate-themed getup, unlocked in the Raid Mode. It can be worn in the main campaign afterwards. Even more so than the original Resident Evil 3 outfit, the Pirate outfit is not pragmatic. However, it relieves much of the tension to walk around the world with an eyepatch and a bird on Jill’s shoulder. We’re not sure how practical this look is for months on the high seas.
