Fans of Resident Evil 3 Remake who were hoping for some kind of expansion or DLC will be disappointed, as it has been revealed that no such content is in the works.

The information comes from an interview between Siliconera and Resident Evil 3 Remake’s producer, Peter Fabiano. Among other topics, the news outlet and Fabiano spoke about the title’s reception and what the development team had to keep in mind while creating the game. When Siliconera asked Fabiano if Resident Evil 3 Remake was complete, or if the game would see any potential updates, the producer stated that the game is indeed a “finished product.”

Based on what Fabiano said, it seems fans who were hoping for some sort of an expansion will be met with disappointing news. Other than the main story mode, Resident Evil 3 Remake doesn’t have any notable content aside from Resident Evil Resistance.

After Resident Evil 2 Remake came out, Capcom released the Ghost Survivors expansion which put some of the minor characters of that game into “what if” scenarios if they survived the events of Raccoon City. Although the Ghost Survivors expansion wasn’t as long as the main game, it still offered some form of fresh content.

Despite the news, the additional Resident Evil Resistance mode will continue to receive updates and support in the future. Based on the roadmap that Capcom published in April, the game mode will receive more content in the form of characters and other expansions in the coming months. As such, players who happen to be fans of Resident Evil Resistance have something to look forward to unlike Resident Evil 3 Remake fans.

Interestingly enough, Capcom not having plans to release any DLC for Resident Evil 3 Remake makes sense. With rumors floating around the internet that the company is working on Resident Evil 4 Remake — as well as Resident Evil 8 — it has decided to shift its focus on those projects instead of Resident Evil 3 Remake.
