A new mod for the Resident Evil 3 remake adds Animal Crossing: New Horizons character Isabelle to the game. This isn’t the first time that Isabelle has been part of a surprising crossover with another series as fans also created art of Isabelle in Doom Eternal.

Modder Crazy Potato, who has also created mods for the Resident Evil 2 remake, is back at it again with a Resident Evil 3 remake that is horrifying but also adorable. The “Isabelle Mask” mod, which is available to download for free on NexusMods, puts Isabelle’s head on Jill Valentine’s body.

It allows players to enjoy the game like they are a bun-sporting dog getting chased around Raccoon City by Nemesis and not a hugely talented Special Operations Agent with a thirst for danger. Screenshots show just how strange this Resident Evil 3 remake crossover is as Isabelle as Jill can be seen firing an assault rifle into the distance.

However, fans seem to love the idea and comments on NexusMods joke this will really make Nemesis run from Jill as Isabelle is friends with the Doom Slayer. The Resident Evil 3 remake enemy won’t want that smoke. Another fan said that this version of Jill looks better than she did in the original version of the game.

The mod has been downloaded more than 100 times since being posted by Crazy Potato on Mach 26, 2020. Crazy Potato isn’t as well known as some other Resident Evil modders but it seems that fans just like the idea of playing as Isabelle. The Isabelle as Jill mod also follows the release of a Doom 2 mod that made Isabelle an invincible companion. Part of the popularity of these crossovers is because fans have so much love for Isabelle and the way that she supports Animal Crossing’s player character and the other part is because these crossovers are just that funny.

These mods that put Isabelle into various games probably aren’t going to become official any time soon. The only really official Isabelle crossover is that she is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. That doesn’t mean that fans will stop making mods like this though and as the developers of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have voiced their support for these crossover creations, that will just give modders more of a reason to keep creating them.

Resident Evil 3 is set to release on April 3rd, 2020 for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.
