The full release for the remake of Resident Evil 2 is less than two weeks away, with several fans now enjoying the game’s 30-minute demo. This demo does a great job of highlighting the graphics and changes made to the 1998 entry of the survival horror franchise. So while many players are likely enjoying every minute they have with the demo, a few players have speedrun it instead, beating the one-shot in a tenth of the available time.

One such player is the YouTuber known as uhTrance who has previously speed run games such as Resident Evil 7 and Saw: The Video Game. As seen below, he managed to clear the Resident Evil 2 one-shot demo in just 3 minutes and 6 seconds (3:06). Of course, to do this, he skipped over the cutscenes and knew right where to go to complete the demo.

It was impressive enough that several viewers were inquiring about the full release, and uhTrance confirmed that he would be speedrunning the full game when it releases later this month. Indubitably, plenty of Resident Evil 2 fans have their calendars marked for this special day and like several baddies in the game, the release is right around the corner.

Although it comes with new graphics and other details, Capcom has recently confirmed that there are no new monsters in the remake, though the game’s monsters will have a few new tools in their utility belt. This means that previous experience with Resident Evil 2 may not be able to fully carry players through the game, so it’s best to be prepared for the demo as well as the full release.

Concerning the demo, players will likely want to be conservative but effective with their time. After all, with only 30 minutes to enjoy it, there’s only so much that players can take in.
