Sega has officially revealed the full game lineup for the Sega Genesis Mini 2 (or Mega Drive Mini 2) retro console. While most of the pre-installed games that will be included with the retro console when it launches on October 27 shouldn’t come as a surprise, it is a bit surprising to see that the console will include Sega’s most notorious and controversial game ever. I’ll include the full list of games featured in the Mini 2 at the bottom of this article for your perusing pleasure....

PlayStation exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn will release in the form of a comic series later this year. It was previously announced that the post-apocalyptic title would be heading to PC in the summer, much to the ire of some PS4 owners for some reason, but that clearly wasn’t all. The 2017 release, which became one of the best-selling PS4 games in history after shipping over 10 million copies, will also be hitting paperback....

Frogwares has announced a new Sherlock Holmes game for its extensive repertoire of cinematic thrillers, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. However, its newest story shows Sherlock at the beginning of his career, rather than during his prime. Players will be able to look at the world through Sherlock’s eyes as he uncovers the mystery of his mother’s death. According to Frogwares, the game will take place in the late 19th Century, on a small Mediterranean island where Sherlock supposedly grew up before moving to England....

Last summer, Atlus and Sega gave the Persona series the legacy treatment when Persona 4 Golden was ported to PC, after spending years exclusive to PlayStation Vita. Soon after, Persona 4 Golden’s PC release proved to be a great success for the publisher, hitting 500,000 players on Steam less than a month after release. Now, it seems Atlus and Sega are aiming for a repeat success with the storied Shin Megami Tensei series, starting with Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne....

Skyrim’s Bards College is one of the main attractions in Solitude and is mentioned throughout the game’s flavor dialog, particularly among tavern bards. Players can find themselves there naturally or may be sent there by a side quest involving a bard trying to get a story in on time. However, if those players then choose to join the college themselves, they will notice that the experience has a very ironic restraint....

When Paramount Pictures first debuted the official look at Sonic the Hedgehog in the titular movie, many fans were left baffled some of the design choices. From Chiclet-esque teeth to a weird body shape, there was a lot about Sonic the Hedgehog to criticize from an adaptation perspective, so much so that the creatives behind the film promised to re-do Sonic to make him closer to the video game. Now, several months after that Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer and a major release date delay, the Sonic the Hedgehog redesign is apparently done....

The Last of Us 2 is now only a month away from release, and as expected, Sony will be releasing a limited edition PS4 Pro bundle that will launch alongside the game. A huge update is now live for Spellbreak, bringing Chapter 1: The Spellstorm to the magic-based battle royale. The wait is finally over for this big content drop, as fans are now able to enjoy Spellbreak in a whole new way. Spellbreak dropped earlier this year to decent reviews, but some of the complaints had to do with a lack of content and an uninspired map. Chapter 1: The Spellstorm attempts to tackle some of those issues head-on....

Insomniac Games announced through its official Twitter account that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has received a new update that includes fixes and adds a new suit called Advanced Tech Suit. The latest update contains an exclusive treatment for PS5 players called realistic muscle deformation. Since its launch back in November, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales hasn’t received major updates except the one that added 60 FPS ray tracing mode all the way back in December, which makes update 1....

Insomniac has added a third graphics option to Spider-Man: Miles Morales that now allows for ray tracing at 60fps. As it starts to feel like we are rapidly reaching a point where video games couldn’t possibly look any more realistic than they already do, attention has diverted to making them feel more real instead. PlayStation has done that using the PS5’s DualSense controller. The new piece of hardware’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers appear to have pleased pretty much everyone who has managed to get their hands on one....

Spider-Man: Miles Morales got an update this week that adds ray-tracing and a new graphics mode called “Performance RT.” This new mode is reportedly “an alternate version of the 60 frames per second ‘Performance’ mode.” The game’s new graphical fidelity is attained by tweaking “reflection quality” and “scene resolution,” among other settings. Developer Insomniac Games has yet to release the full patch notes for the Spider-Man: Miles Morales update. However, there’s some indication the improved lighting and reflections came with a price....

The Avengers and Batman may have been absent from E3 presentations this year, but Spider-Man managed to generate enough hype for the whole superhero genre. Insomniac’s upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man title features some incredibly impressive looking gameplay and, according to the developer, the story is going to be equally mind blowing. Spider-Man lore has hundreds of iconic stories to pull from, but Insomniac is using this game to tell an original story set in a new Spider-Man world....

On December 17, 2020, Epic Games made a big announcement via Twitter. Or, at least, what they thought was a big announcement. Spotify is now available to download on the Epic Games store. The announcement that Spotify can now be downloaded from the Epic Games store was an understandably confusing one. After all, anyone with a smartphone can download the app and play their music and podcasts directly from their phone or tablet....

Activision recently released Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, a collection of the first three Spyro games with updated graphics, audio, and more. One of the new features in Spyro: Reignited Trilogy’s Spyro the Dragon remake are Skill Points, which give players an extra challenge in the game. Skill Points are challenges that require players complete specific tasks, like beating a boss level without taking damage or finding a secret item. Oftentimes the Skill Points are easy to earn, but other times players may need some additional help to complete them....

Final Fantasy fans who want to learn more about Sonon, or brush up on their Yuffie knowledge, can now do so via their official biographies. Last week’s State of Play closed out with the blockbuster announcement that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake journey will be furthered this June. Well, technically it was two blockbuster announcements. The expected reveal that FF7 Remake will be getting the PS5 treatment, but also the first look at an all-new episode....
