Only a day after announcing his Twitch comeback, Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is holding his first stream on the platform since signing his Mixer exclusivity deal last year. While Shroud’s decision was already a big win for Twitch following a series of controversies, the streamer’s return has also drawn in a massive number of viewers to boot. Like several ex-Mixer personalities, Shroud opted to end his Mixer exclusivity deal rather than continue on Facebook Gaming....

The Tomb Raider series’ most polarizing instalment - The Angel of Darkness - has finally become the target for a proper HD remake, thanks to one talented fan by the name of Julian Guba, a.k.a FreakRaider. The sixth title in the main line of Tomb Raider games - released in 2003 - was meant to be the greatest, most ambitious of the bunch to date. It was expected to usher in a new era of next-gen graphics, whilst offering fans an opportunity to dive into Lara Croft’s biggest adventure yet....

In celebration of Sonic’s 35th anniversary, a whole bunch of Sonic games are coming to PlayStation Now next month. Sega’s first Sonic Central stream took place today, bringing with it a tonne of Sonic-themed announcements including new games and cameos in existing properties. One of the smaller announcements during the show is that Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces, and Team Sonic Racing are all hitting PlayStation Now on June 1st. PlayStation users with a PlayStation Now subscription will be able to download the titles free of charge next month....

South Park: The Fracture But Whole is foul in the best way possible. There was some fear that the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone might not be able to capture the same gaming-based lightning in the bottle they did with The Stick of Truth, but if the demo we played at E3 2017 is any indication then fans have nothing to worry about. As part of a special Ubisoft event, Game Rant was able to play about 40 minutes of South Park: The Fractured But Whole and let’s just say the demo had plenty of laugh out loud moments....

Capcom officially reveals the Resident Evil 3 remake’s sales figures and the number is much lower than the Resident Evil 2 remake that launched last year. Capcom found a great deal of success with the Resident Evil 2 remake, which sold millions of copies and stands as the highest-rated video game of 2019. With Resident Evil 3 sharing many assets and narrative links with Resident Evil 2, it only made sense for Capcom to pursue a remake of it next. The Resident Evil 3 remake isn’t quite as compelling as Resident Evil 2, but it’s still a strong entry in the series and is plenty entertaining while it lasts....

Resident Evil Revelations is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall, Capcom announced. The publisher confirmed it will release both physical and digital editions of the game across North America and Europe. Resident Evil Revelations was originally a Nintendo 3DS title, first released in January 2012. Capcom then created an HD version of the game when it was ported to PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in 2013....

Last week, developer Respawn Entertainment revealed the Chaos Theory collection event for Apex Legends, which will coincide with a patch that will nerf Horizon’s Black Hole Ultimate, among other things. However, many balked at the nerf, calling it not enough to bring Dr. Mary Somers into parity with the rest of the legends. But a developer from Respawn has now clarified that a much more substantial shakeup for Horizon is coming in the future....

Independent video game solo developer Max Mraz and publisher Nordcurrent recently announced January 21, 2021, as the officially scheduled release date for their pixel-art action RPG Ocean’s Heart. The game will be launching on Steam, where it’s page is already live, but doesn’t yet have a listed launch price. According to the official press release, Max Mraz is based in Ohio, and is the lone developer of Ocean’s Heart, their first commercially-released video game....

Returnal has many biomes, with most containing a boss at the end of them. Bosses in Returnal are the peak of any area and ramp up the white-knuckled action that makes the game great. Returnal is a challenging game even without these encounters, and these bosses stand as the proper skill check of the game. Bosses in Returnal can be pretty surprising and can be a visual showcase in addition to the intense encounter they often offer....

Might and Delight’s Shelter 2 is a beautiful and atmospheric survival game. A the sequel to the original Shelter in which you play as a mother badger protecting her cubs, Shelter 2 is a return to emotionally driven gameplay. According to Might and Delight’s website, their goal is “to create [an] interesting experience with a strong focus on well-crafted visual styles.” While they succeed in creating a unique game with an interesting visual style, the gameplay is tedious, sparse, and lacks guidance....

Chock full of references, tie-ins, and cameos, the Star Wars sequel trilogy is nothing if not rooted in past installments and Rian Johnson, director of The Last Jedi, isn’t afraid to show it. Not only did The Last Jedi work hard to bring back several legacy characters, including Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, but a recent Twitter post also reveals that even those who couldn’t make it in person got a shout out, however small....
