The Elder Scrolls is a franchise with several games under its belt. It’s not surprising that some fans disagree on which game in the series is the best. Skyrim and Oblivion especially have put fans at war for nearly a decade now. While many of the key elements of the series are represented in both games, there were some major changes to Skyrim that cost it some points with fans. Many people feel that the content in Skyrim is much more shallow then what was available in Oblivion....

Battleaxes and Nords are an iconic duo within The Elder Scrolls series. These massive two-handed axes can carve through multiple opponents in a single swing. They make for potent weapons in melee combat, but there are also unique variants that are better or offer unique benefits most battleaxes can’t. With CES 2021 having kicked off as a digital event today, a bunch of tech companies are showing off their latest goods and wares that will soon become available in the future. While a lot of that won’t be directly related to gaming, Sony held a press conference for upcoming PlayStation 5 titles and it includes a ton of release dates for “big” games. As you can tell from the headline, Returnal, Pragmata, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Ghostwire: Tokyo have been given some new timeframes for when they will be available....

Cradle Games announced its “occult sci-fi horror” RPG Hellpoint will be postponed from April 16 to sometime before Q3 2020 due to strain from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Dark Souls-style game joins others like Elder Scrolls Online’s Greymoor Expansion in receiving delays. The announcement, posted to Twitter on Thursday, acknowledges frustration at the short notice, but says the team hopes more time to polish Hellpoint based on player feedback will lead to a better game this summer....

Without a doubt, the gameplay trailer shown for Spider-Man during Sony’s PlayStation E3 2018 press conference gave fans plenty of action and story beats to mull over. Arguably, one of the most significant reveals included story details that unveiled four significant baddies from the Webslinger’s extensive rogues gallery teaming up with the previously revealed Mr. Negative. The likes of Vulture, Rhino, Scorpion, and Electro are all joining the PS4 exclusive as antagonists, with Insomniac Games creative director Bryan Intihar teasing there are “even more villains” to come....

Many fans are eagerly waiting to get their hands on Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 later this year. In the meantime, Insomniac Games has revealed various details about the upcoming game, such as what villains players can expect to encounter, which suits Spider Man will be able to wear, and even another gameplay trailer for the game at E3 this year. Very recently, in addition to all these details, a video that shows off the game’s open world map has started circulating the internet....

Considering it is the fastest selling Marvel game to date, Spider-Man has a lot going for it, to the point that its recent honest trailer still has a positive tone. The trailer does point out a few issues with the game, as they traditionally do, but still ends on a note that is sure to make those who do not yet have the game want it even more. Fans of Square Enix may be in for a treat in the near future, as it has recently submitted a patent detailing what appears to be a new mobile game in the works. As with most patents, the information is a bit difficult to parse through and it is by no means an official indicator of anything, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Though it is best known for the Final Fantasy franchise, Square Enix has several other IPs that this new mobile game could be based off as well....

Resident Evil is a franchise with many iconic and popular characters. While many fans typically gravitate toward main characters like Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, or Chirs Redfield, there is still an appreciation for smaller side characters like Rebecca Chambers or Ada Wong. Despite Resident Evil: Village director Morimasa Sato claiming the game is full of intense and horrifying scenes, apparently not all players will experience them as intended. According to a new report, the Japanese version of Resident Evil: Village will be censored heavily with no decapitations and far less blood shown. Capcom refers to Resident Evil: Village with many bold statements, including “the best survival horror game to date” or “players cannot relax during the game because of its intense horror content....

Rumors of a Resident Evil 2 remake were confirmed to be true during Sony’s E3 2018 presentation, when Capcom announced that the project was indeed in development. While the news itself was buzz-worthy enough, E3 attendees were also treated to a playable demo featured at Capcom’s booth, supplemented by an announcement trailer and a lengthy gameplay trailer. Today, Capcom unveiled the new gameplay footage in stunning 4k resolution, showing a fully modernized version of the 1998 classic - smoother, better-looking, and scarier than ever seen before....

While rolling out the Chaos Theory update for Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment inadvertently nerfed Bangalore and Caustic’s smoke based abilities. While the objective of Bangalore’s smokescreen is to essentially impair enemy players’ line of sight, the smoke has become pretty easy to see through after the update. As a result of the update, the smoke abilities of a number of Legends have been nerfed, making them almost useless. There’s no real point to a smoke screen if your enemies can still see you running around, is there?...

During Sony’s State of Play presentation, new details emerged about Housemarque’s upcoming sci-fi game, Returnal. Featuring flashy gunplay, with roguelike restarts upon character death, along with eerie monsters, Selene is in for some creepy adventures on the planet Atropos. While the “Atropos” trailer from February 24 focused more on the environments on the planet Atropos, today’s presentation gave us a glimpse at the gameplay systems for the upcoming game. Combat in Returnal is fast and frenetic, with varying playstyles for the weapons that Selene picks up along the way....

Whenever an actor steps in to portray an iconic superhero, there is usually the pressure of pleasing the character’s respective fandom. Filling Batman’s boots is a daunting feat, but Robert Pattinson isn’t overly concerned about failing to meet expectations. Pattinson has become a respected actor and is undoubtedly one of the gems of indie cinema. His upcoming role as Bruce Wayne and the Bats in Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the few blockbusters he’s been a part of since Harry Potter and that vampire film....

Microsoft may be resurrecting Fable, according to rumors. Anonymous sources speaking with Eurogamer say that Microsoft has decided to dust off one of their dead franchises to give it another shot. They’ve apparently tasked Playground Games, the makers of the successful Forza Horizon series, to create the latest “big-budget Fable game." According to sources, the latest Fable is going to be just like every other Fable: a story-focused, character-filled, open-world action RPG....

Halo: Cryptum, the first novel in Greg Bear’s ‘Forerunner Saga’ released back in January, but a press release for the France edition included an interesting tidbit regarding the long-awaited Halo movie.
