However, while gamers have found clever ways to bend Minecraft to their will, creating any and everything under the sun, they have never been able to directly influence the game....

Many years after Sharknado paved the way for silly shark-based films to find mainstream appeal, Fuse Box Films has released a trailer for a movie that will take things to their obvious conclusion. Sky Sharks features flying robot sharks, mad Nazi scientists, and all the cheesy special effects a shark-loving audience could ever wish for. Sky Sharks is… well… a film about sky sharks. They swim through the air, instead of water, and are equipped with all sorts of menacing-looking technology that will presumably help them hunt down and kill anything unfortunate enough to share the same airspace....

As of today - for PC gamers - the land of Skyrim is about to get a lot bigger and a lot more interesting. It took a few months for it to happen but Bethesda is proud to announce that the Skyrim Creation Kit is officially available for download for free via Steam. We anxiously watched the Creation Kit preview last week, knowing it would come this month, and it’s finally here....

Super Smash Bros pits the gaming world’s strongest and bravest heroes against each other in winner-take-all battles atop floating maps. Of course, falling off the map is the last thing that anyone wants to do, which is why when your character gets to a ledge, they flail around trying not to fall—except Minecraft Steve. Since Smash Bros. is the ultimate test for a video game character, it has now been proven that Minecraft Steve is completely fearless....

Since Call of Duty: Warzone updated with Season 4 content, fans of the game have been able to try the new Rumble game mode. However, many players have taken to Reddit to share their frustrations with the game mode and advocate for the return of the game mode Rumble replaced. With Call of Duty’s Season 4 update came a lot of new additions to the franchise. Alongside features like in-match events in Call of Duty: Warzone, Infinity Ward introduced the new Rumble mode to the game....

PlayStation is indeed trialing a video pass for PS Plus subscribers, but only in Poland for the time being. Sony added information pertaining to a Video Pass to its Polish website earlier this week. It then promptly removed that information, but as is always the case with the internet, it was too late. The cat was out of the bag and PS Plus subscribers started to wonder what exactly was in the pipeline....

Custom PS5 faceplate manufacturer CustomizeMyPlates.com has been forced by Sony’s lawyers to halt the production of their product and refund all orders. The website launched last week as PlateStation5.com and offered unofficial PS5 shells in a variety of colors and patterns for $39.99. After only a day, however, the company was contacted by Sony’s lawyers and told it needed to change the name due to trademark infringement. Speaking to VGC, a representative from the company said that they had hoped the switch to CustomizeMyPlates would keep everyone happy....

Most gamers may have already forgotten about Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PS4 exclusive launch title that debuted to middling reviews, but one fan still has the game fresh in his mind. However, that fan’s focus on Killzone has been less than positive to say the least. Douglas Ladore filed a lawsuit against Killzone: Shadow Fall last year claiming that the game deceived gamers with claims it would run at a native 1080p resolution....

The next-generation of consoles is right around the corner. Reports indicate that Sony’s PlayStation5 is starting production, meaning the console is that much closer to arriving in living rooms around the world. Information from BusinessKorea’s unnamed source indicates that the PS5 is on schedule to start production this week. Suppliers and have started their part of the production process, according to the report, as Sony is relying on third-party vendors for much of the next-gen console....

Gamescom 2021 is underway next month but Sony won’t be in attendance. Plenty of the larger companies like Xbox, SEGA, EA, Nintendo, and Ubisoft will be making an appearance, but PlayStation has again declined to participate, much like with E3 2021 earlier this year. Also, just like with E3 2021, this year’s Gamescom will be all-digital due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, it held out with the hope of holding a physical convention but, at the beginning of May, it caved....

Following last month’s Steam release, Breathedge is now available on Nintendo Switch. In addition to dropping today on the eShop, the game is on sale for just $19.99. This ‘ironic’ space survival game first launched in Early Access on Steam in February 2020, pulling in hundreds of positive reviews. The game launched 1.0 on PC in March, and now it is finally ready to be played on Nintendo Switch. Breathedge is a typical survival exploration game, similar to Subnautica....

It’s been quite a while since fans of Mass Effect 3 have had a new trailer or glimpse of story to keep their hunger at bay until the game’s 2012 release, but the wait is over. At tonight’s Spike VGAs, BioWare rolled out yet another look at what players will be in for when Mass Effect 3 arrives, and once again, it proves that fans have plenty of reason to be excited....

Self-isolated Tomb Raider fans now have two more ways to stay entertained with two free games for iOS and Android. From now until April 2, users can pick up both Lara Croft GO and Monument Valley 2 for free. Lara Croft GO is a great adaptation of the long-running series of games, placing the iconic character into a turn-based puzzle adventure game. Unlike most other games in the series, the design of Lara Croft GO is far more colorful and brighter, which is a good look for a mobile title....

It won’t be too much longer before gamers will be able to get their hands on a copy of Capcom’s forthcoming Resident Evil 2, with the survival-horror release set to go live across multiple platforms at the end of next week. But even though the remake of the 1998 classic is almost here, it looks as if the project’s director Kazunori Kadoi and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi are keen to keep providing details about the title right up until launch, as the two have now confirmed that the game will have Easter eggs that reference RE7....

As reviews pile in for the remake of Resident Evil 3, many have indicated that the game is good, but not as good as Resident Evil 2 due to its much shorter storyline and the fact that it has only one playable main story. Fans of the survivor horror series Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) have been eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming Resident Evil 8, now known as Resident Evil Village. While the game isn’t due to be released until 2021, that hasn’t stopped a number of information leaks from players who claim to have taken part in an early play test reserved for “Resident Evil Ambassadors.” The latest leak details lots of alleged new information, with probably the biggest news being that a Virtual Reality (VR) version of the game is in the works....

Resident Evil has seen versions of its story play out in video games, novels, and movies, and at one point, it could have been a TV series as well. As recently revealed by Mance Media and writer/director Shawn Lebert, a Resident Evil TV series was in development under the working title Arklay, but plans were scrapped before it could meet its planned release date in 2015. In an attempt to sell Arklay to studios, Lebert created a short film called Dave that acted as a proof-of-concept for his Resident Evil TV series idea....

Later this year, Capcom will launch Resident Evil Village, aka Resident Evil 8, the latest installment in the company’s long-running survival-horror franchise. Resident Evil Village most closely resembles Resident Evil 7, utilizing a first-person viewpoint and continuing the story of Ethan Winters. And while Resident Evil Village is a direct sequel to RE7, the game also has a lot in common with an older Resident Evil game. As it turns out, Resident Evil Village has a lot in common with Resident Evil 4, which is the highest-rated Resident Evil game to date....

Licensed games aren’t what they used to be. They’re still in ample supply, but games have grown so expensive and complicated that movie adaptations for every major blockbuster under the sun simply don’t make much sense anymore. You won’t find scrappy beat ‘em-ups or mediocre platformers based on The Ant Bully or Over The Hedge littering digital storefronts. Those days are over, and the medium is far better for it. Yet such a farewell was also bittersweet....
