Popular streamer and Counter-Strike master Michael Grzesiek, better known as Shroud, has announced his return to Twitch. The announcement comes just a month after Microsoft shut down its Mixer streaming platform, where Grzesiek previously had an exclusive contract. There’s no denying that the past few decades have seen 3D technology come a long way. We’ve lost the blue and red glasses and replaced them with much more sophisticated ones for stereoscopic 3D, with Nintendo eventually giving us a glasses-free 3D with the 3DS. For me, it was the GameBoy - the original cinder block one that took four batteries to render top-down graphics in significantly less than 50 shades of grey. After that I trucked onto the GameBoy Colour, skipped the Advance, picked up the SP, and eventually moved on to the wonderful DS. I got a PS1 somewhere in the middle of all that but had no memory cards and only played rented games, and we got an Xbox with Halo: Combat Evolved from a family member who worked at Microsoft....

Sony has announced that the next Playstation is three years away, so players should be prepared to have a new console in 2021! As reported by the Wall Street Journal on May 23rd, John Kodera, the CEO of Playstation, made a statement regarding the future of Sony and gaming after a presentation to investors. Sony’s SimulView technology is quite an impressive feat, though one that is quite underutilized. The technology may receive its second wind, however, as a newly discovered patent shows the future of SimulView, allowing multiple users to share a single TV like never before. SimulView technology first made its appearance in the official PS3 3D Display. When playing select splitscreen games, SimulView allowed gamers to view their half of the screen as a full image, instead of one screen that had been bisected to accommodate two players....

Complexity in gaming varies wildly. On one end of the spectrum are games like Red Dead Redemption 2, which are compelling not in spite of, but because of their banalities. RDR2’s simulacrum of the Wild West was built with such attention to detail that simple actions (like reloading a gun) function as their own minigames. Capcom is building hype for its upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake release with a special time locked demo. The demo starts players off as Leon standing in the main lobby of the iconic RPD. From there, players have 30 minutes to explore the station and complete some simple objectives while fighting and dodging the undead. After the 30 minutes is up, players are unable to access gameplay again and have to wait for the real release....
