Hi-Rez Studios just announced that Cthulhu, a member of the Great Old Gods, will be joining the SMITE roster when the game’s next major update arrives. He’ll be the first god to join the newly created “Great Old Ones” Patheon that the game plans to add and flesh out in the future. The precise date for when Cthulhu will join the fray didn’t come with the announcement, but he will arrive sometime in mid-June....

A Steam Workshop user creates a ‘Wuss Mode’ mode for SOMA, which allows players to play through the game’s narrative without worrying about monster attacks. SOMA is the psychological thriller from Frictional Games which forces players to question what it means to be a human, and puts them through a struggle at the bottom of the Ocean to save what is essentially humanity’s last chance of survival. Turns out those leaked DualSense color options were right on the money. Sony just revealed two new DualSense controllers that are red and black, exactly as described, but still far more breathtaking to see in all their glory. First up is Cosmic Red, featuring black detailing and a deep red, almost maroon-colored outer shell. Not too long ago, Bandai Namco Entertainment officially confirmed that yet another familiar face is returning in Soul Calibur 6, as the publisher and developer revealed the blind, hand-blade wielding warrior Voldo in gameplay video. The South Korean government is finding itself at odds with the recent addition of “gaming disorder” into the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems this past week by the World Health Organization (WHO). Other organizations have also joined in speaking out about the move as well. The definition of “gaming disorder” offered by the WHO is “a pattern of behavior characterized by impaired control over gaming, increasing priority given to gaming over other activities to the extent that gaming takes precedence over other interests and daily activities, and continuation or escalation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences....

Spellbreak is a recently-launched battle royale game that’s growing increasingly popular due to word of mouth. Developer Proletariat knows it has to build off Spellbreak’s initial success with launch now behind it, and as such, Saturday Proletariat hosted a livestream as part of the PAX Online digital convention. During the stream, Proletariat confirmed several upcoming features for Spellbreak, including some major map changes and also a 9v9 mode. In a short trailer, Proletariat reconfirmed first that Duos will be coming to Spellbreak, something players expect to arrive as soon as next week....

The typically candid Tom Holland has been discussing Spider-Man: No Way Home during the press junket for his Apple TV+ drama, Cherry. However, the actor has now stated that he’d love to reunite with his Spider-Man co-star Zendaya on HBO’s Euphoria. Holland and Zendaya first shared the screen in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and they are set to reprise their roles as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and MJ in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s been a few months since the release of L.A. Noire and while many have risen the ranks from a simple beat cop to a comfy desk in Vice, gamers may be feeling that something is missing from Rockstar’s title.
