E3 is just around the corner, but it’ll be a little different this time around. Thanks to the ongoing pandemic, E3 will be a digital-only event that spans four days, with publishers each getting their own timeslot to stream their presentations. Originally, Square Enix wasn’t listed as one of the publishers to appear at E3, but it looks like that might have changed recently. In an interview with Nikkei (which comes to us by way of Video Games Chronicle), Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda told the publication that they do indeed have some announcements to share at this year’s E3....

Zombies, guns, and badass protagonists define a lot of highlights in Capcom’s Resident Evil. After all, it’s Resident Evil that catapulted the survival-horror genre to its popularity. Moreover, it’s also the same franchise that tried and tested mechanics that would eventually form the hallmark of its game series. As such, Resident Evil fans survived through puzzles, painstakingly-difficult bosses, and terrifying hordes of zombies across even main series titles. Likewise, fans of the series will likely have their most memorable times playing the survival-horror franchise....

The release of Resident Evil 3 today brings with it many staples of the survival horror series, and no game would be complete without herbs to keep our survivors healthy and among the living. Green herbs can still be consumed by themselves to heal around 25% of a player’s health, but there are other options as for more potent healing. As always, players are free to mix herbs together, which saves on inventory space and is crucial for subsequent speed runs to get higher ranks....

Not long after Resident Evil 7 launched, executive producer Jun Takeuchi confirmed that Capcom was already working on the followup, presumably titled Resident Evil 8. Of course, with Resident Evil 8 so early in development, Takeuchi didn’t reveal any concrete details on the project, though he did tease that the team wants to continue evolving the survival-horror genre with the next game in the series. With Resident Evil 7 not even a year old and the Resident Evil 2 remake on deck, it may be years before we learn anything about Resident Evil 8....

Risk of Rain 2 has come a long way since launching last year on PC, and developer Hopoo Games and publisher Gearbox are taking the game out of Early Access with a full release on Steam on August 11. The finalized game will come with a $5 hike, from $19.99 to $24.99, so fans that haven’t gotten on board yet may want to take advantage of the lower price tag for RoR 2 while they still can....

Rocket Labs is making a triumphant return to Rocket League, as it’s now available as an LTM. The Galleon Rocket Labs LTM Playlist will be available until January 18 at 6pm PT, although variations of Rocket Labs are expected to return in the future. Longtime Rocket League players are likely familiar with the fun game mode, but folks just starting with the newly free-to-play title probably don’t know what all the fuss is about....

The latest piece of free DLC for Psyonix’s popular Rocket League game comes in the form of a Vault Boy antenna, in celebration of Fallout 4’s impending release. Fallout 4 is everywhere. Psyonix recently brought two popular cars to Rocket League, but this week will see the addition of an entire fleet. On May 6, the NASCAR 2021 Fan Pack will be available for purchase, bringing nine team Decals and three cars to the popular online game. Rocket League’s NASCAR 2021 Fan Pack includes the NASCAR Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Toyota Camry, along with nine Decals, Player Banners, Goodyear Racing Tires, and a NASCAR x RL Decal for each car....

Rockstar Games, the company that practically perfected the open world genre, is hiring for a new game at their San Diego offices. This specific studio (and there are a lot of them) was in charge of the Red Dead series of western games, including the very well received Red Dead Redemption back in 2010, and Midnight Club series. Could the next title be one in either series? Now we know it will at least be based upon an open world....

We haven’t seen much of The Avengers video game from Square Enix since its initial teaser trailer. However, it seems like the curtain may finally be pulled back on the game come E3 2019 in June, as some fans think Square Enix is now actively teasing it on Twitter. Square Enix has started posting images to promote its E3 2019 presentation, which will take place on June 10 at 6pm PT....

Ubisoft is planning to host a private press event tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27, to unveil… well, something regarding the next installment of its epic franchise. And with the series aligned to weave another new protagonist, setting and possibly even time period into its next adventure, many are anticipating the reveal of Assassin’s Creed 4....

A screenshot that’s making the rounds is said to be leaked from unreleased Assassin’s Creed, rumored to be subtitled Empire. The screenshot features a lightly armored, heavily armed figure standing in front of an open stone doorway. The image is very low quality, but there are some recognizable symbols within it. One is an icon above the door, similar to past Assassin’s Creed icons for area transitions; the other is a symbol on the figure’s shield....

Cute as heck platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure has kicked Animal Crossing: New Horizons to the curb for BAFTA’s Best Family Game award. Yes, Sackboy won big at the famed awards show by being recognized as the Best British Game and Best Family Game. It’s quite surprising as Nintendo is typically the king of the genre, but Sumo Digital was able to snag it. However, if you really think about it, perhaps it’s more deserving than we originally thought....
