Now that Modern Warfare 2 has been released, we’ve got a little more time to start speculating on future blockbuster titles. Today, Nick McCandless of The Gamer Access is reporting that God of War III will feature cooperative gameplay elements. The story is tagged as “official” but the validity of the information is certainly contentious. McCandless claims that after completing the demo, he logged into a Sony site that educates retail employees about future titles....

The Game Awards 2018 are set for Thursday, December 6, and they will not only focus on looking back at the best games of the year, but also at the road ahead. As confirmed by host Geoff Keighley, 10 new game reveals are set for the show, and a newly circulating rumor indicates that Mortal Kombat 11 may be one of them. The rumor’s origin is a post on 4chan from an alleged QA tester, so it must be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism....

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has revealed what he thinks of Disney now being in charge of the Deadpool series. While the first two Deadpool movies were produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the series changed hands when Disney bought Fox in 2019. Reynolds, who is also the producer on the new ABC game show Don’t, spoke to Total Film Magazine about what Disney’s purchase of Fox could mean for Deadpool 3....

Last night, Saturday Night Live highlighted the demand for the PS5 this Christmas by featuring a skit with Pete Davidson parodying Eminem’s classic Stan. In the video, we see elves reading letters to Santa before shifting to a basement where Stu is obsessively writing Saint Nick, asking for a PS5. The parody is spot on, with Davidson sporting bleached blonde hair and Kate McKinnon playing Dido. Facing a wall covered with photos of Santa and an ad for the PS5, Stu, writes, “Dear Santa / I can’t believe the year is almost over / it’s getting colder, I’m a year older but I’m still your soldier....

No matter how desperate you are to get your hands on a PS5, be very careful when it comes to dealing with strangers claiming to have consoles for sale. Both PlayStation and Xbox have claimed that their respective next-gen console launches were the biggest ever. Apple has unveiled a replacement for its 2018 HomePod smart speaker. The HomePod (2nd generation) introduces a larger speaker to the line-up again, with the original having been phased out in 2021 and only the HomePod mini continuing. It features a similar design to before but with a number of improvements inside and out. For starters, it supports Matter - the smart home standard that enables devices from multiple manufacturers to each recognise and work with each other seamlessly....

Shakedown: Hawaii is a 16-bit Grand Theft Auto parody title that was originally released last year, in 2019. Although the game was revealed to many in a Nintendo Direct in 2017, the game has since been launched on many different platforms. The game has most recently been announced for the PS5, making the game now available on nine different platforms. In coming to the PlayStation 5 on December 15, Shakedown: Hawaii will be a cross-buy compatible title....

After so many games with 2015 release dates took the stage at E3, it’s no surprise that talk of alpha and beta tests were more prominent at the event than ever this year. Although Star Wars: Battlefront didn’t offer up access to an alpha or beta, plenty of other games (including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition) did. According to EA, the wait for early access to Star Wars: Battlefront may be over for some lucky fans far earlier than expected....

Things are looking up for The Sims 4 after several Simgurus tweeted a teaser for an upcoming DLC that appears to be supernatural themed. After a rough week for the franchise, which saw tempers flare over the release of a Sims themed MAC Palette, the news is being welcomed by the community. Supernatural themes are common in The Sims franchise and this teaser looks likely to be linked to Happy Haunts, a theme that ranked second in the Community Stuff Pack theme voting just over a year ago....

Somebody actually remade the original Death Stranding trailer using PS1-era graphics and a 1999 release date. Death Stranding has been out on both PS4 and PC for a while now, and even though the game didn’t sell as well as Kojima would have hoped, it’s still a cultural phenomenon thanks to its wild storyline and excellent marketing. Even if you’ve never played the game and have no intention of ever picking it up, you know exactly what Death Stranding is because of ads featuring naked Norman Reedus holding a fetus....

Among Us has plans. Big plans. Plans for new tasks, for more colorblind support, and for more tools to tackle cheaters. But Among Us 2 is not in the cards, according to developer InnerSloth. Instead, they’re going to focus on expanding Among Us to be the best game that it can be with a bunch of free updates.
