After almost 8 years of waiting and 4 years since its announcement, Atlus is gearing up to release Shin Megami Tensei 5 in 2021. While fans will be getting a Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne HD remaster to hold them over in early 2021, there is still some time to go until Shin Megami Tensei 5 makes its way to Nintendo Switch, leaving some time to speculate and hope for what innovations Atlus may bring to Shin Megami Tensei 5, given that it is the studio’s first major RPG release since 2017’s Persona 5....

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD feels like growing up, and not just because this is the first time I’ve played it since experiencing the original as a teenager. The current competition scene in Pokémon Sword & Shield is having an issue - a big one. Some players have discovered an exploit that allows them to cheat in online battles and cause huge problems for their opponents in the process. As discovered by some players and posted on ResetEra, the exploit pertains to the Nintendo Switch console itself. Specifically, players are pressing the power button on their consoles at the right moment after losing an online battle, thus tricking their game into not calculating the score and basically not making the battle count....

Sega reveals the Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice release date while an upcoming Sonic 25th anniversary event sparks rumors of a Sonic anniversary game being released this year. Last year, Sega announced a new Sonic game, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for Nintendo 3DS. At their E3 2013 Press Conference, Sony revealed that PlayStation Plus would be required for online play using the PS4. It was an announcement that, under different circumstances, might have elicited a negative reaction, but given the way Sony packaged the reveal most gamers didn’t seem to mind. However, since Sony more or less slipped this announcement under the radar, they didn’t take the time to outline what specific online services will be locked behind PS Plus’ pay wall....

Exploration has always played a key role in Resident Evil. Since the PlayStation original, Capcom’s premiere survival horror franchise has balanced intricate level design with gameplay that juggles puzzle-solving, gunplay, and a healthy dose of adventure. Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has confirmed that her character Rey Skywalker won’t be returning to a galaxy far, far, away anytime soon. “I loved my experience,” she said in an interview with Empire Magazine (via GameSpot), “In terms of revisiting the character, I think that’s a bye-bye for now.” Ridley enjoyed her time with the cast and crew of the Star Wars movies, calling them a “wonderful little web of people,” but she will likely not return for a while....

It’s no small secret that the video game industry can be unwelcoming to women, be it their portrayal within games themselves, or the vocal minority of overwhelmingly toxic communities. Riot Games has released a new Valorant trailer for a character named Sage. The developer has released several other character trailers for its new competitive multiplayer shooter as Viper, a character who can poison enemies, is another who got their own video. On Twitter, Riot has posted a short video showing the abilities of Sage, a Valorant character who comes from China. Sage is a support character and her tagline is “let them try to get through me” suggesting that she can stop enemy attacks as well as help out her allied teammates....

Rock Band 4 offers the same party-focused, addictive experience as its predecessors, but potential song limitations and price point will hold it back for some.
