You’d think that the global silicon shortage would have affected Sony’s plans for a new phone, but apparently not. Sony just announced two brand new Xperia phones with some pretty great specs if you’re a mobile gamer. The Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III are both expected to arrive this summer as Sony’s new flagship phones. Both have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform with a Kryo 680 CPU and an Adreno 660 GPU for fantastic graphical performance....

Way back in 2004, many speculated Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus would return after Spider-Man 2, even though he ended that movie by vanishing beneath the Hudson River. This of course seemed like wishful thinking at the time: Molina might’ve been the best Spider-Man movie villain up to that point, but Sony couldn’t bring him back after he took a nuclear-heated bath, right? In the case of Molina, this is a good thing....

While may are excited for Spider-Man: Miles Morales simply to experience a new adventure as Miles, the game’s Ultimate Edition also comes with a full-fledged PlayStation 5 remaster of the original Spider-Man game from 2018. Insomniac has already demonstrated the ways Spider-Man will take advantage of the PS5’s capabilities, such as improved lighting and ray-tracing, which has made a very noticeable difference to the visuals, but it appears there may be one or two much smaller changes as well....

Just when you thought the most action-packed and emotional conclusion to the Gears of War trilogy would be all of the COG we’d see on the current generation of consoles, Epic Games surprised us all. Passing much of the development to partner studio People Can Fly (Bulletstorm), Gears of War: Judgment lets players step into the shoes of Kilo Squad, led by Damon Baird and featuring Augustus Cole and two new characters in an early look at the Locust war, 14 years before the events of the original game....

Last year, developer Purple Lamp Studios and publisher THQ Nordic brought back a cult-classic Nickelodeon 3D platformer on modern consoles with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated. The Battle for Bikini Bottom remake was received fairly well by fans despite its lackluster reviews, but now half a year later it will have another chance to blow people away with a release on Android and iOS devices. Publisher HandyGames, a subsidiary of THQ Nordic and its parent company Embracer Group, announced today it will be releasing a mobile port of Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated on January 21....

Square Enix has been showing a long-overdue interest in its older games. A remastered version of Saga Frontier Remastered is coming in 2021 and it will include content that was cut from the original game. Square Enix needs to do the same thing with Xenogears, which was another game from the same era that shipped in an incomplete state. Saga Frontier is a beloved game, but it had one of the most controversial endings on the PS1....

But when Square Enix brought their Luminous Engine to the show, proclaiming to run a next-gen Final Fantasy tech demo… in real-time, they succeeded where similar marketing approaches frequently fail: They turned heads. Capcom officially announces the start date for the Resident Evil Resistance open beta. Fans will be able to enjoy the asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay just over a week after Capcom releases the Resident Evil 3 remake demo, which is for the single player story. It has been officially confirmed that the Resident Evil Resistance open beta will be open from March 27, 2020. The full version of the Resident Evil 3 remake, with Resident Evil Resistance, will be available on April 3, which is just a week later....

Throughout Resident Evil 3, Jill picks up various weapons that help her combat the many horrors she faces. Yet, even one of the most skilled protagonists in the series requires more than basic firearms to survive Raccoon City. Thankfully you can upgrade several guns in the title to improve stats, such as accuracy, firepower, and reload speed. Although, you need specific parts to do so, and they’re hidden throughout the game....

Matt Mercer, voice actor for Leon Kennedy, reveals that he has not been asked to reprise the role for Resident Evil 7, and that Capcom is cutting back on character cameos. So far, Capcom has been remaining very secretive over upcoming title Resident Evil 7. Although some details have surfaced about the game, most recently through the story synopsis that accompanied the game’s rating, overall the sequel seems to be very much a mystery....

For months now, rumors have been swirling that Capcom was going to release a Resident Evil 8 demo for fans to try ahead of launch. At the Resident Evil showcase event, Capcom officially confirmed the rumors. The Resident Evil 8 playable demo will be going live for PlayStation 5 owners at some point later this evening. Like the Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour demo, the Resident Evil 8 demo is not like a traditional video game demo....

Resident Evil Village is fast approaching, and as its release draws closer, Capcom is steadily releasing more information on the characters and world. Fans have already received a bit more information on the tall vampiric Lady Dimitrescu than they expected, and more info is expected to appear in the coming months. Still, despite all that, there seems to be a marked lack of focus on the protagonist Ethan Winters. Ethan is returning from Resident Evil 7, where he braved the infected Baker estate to save his wife Mia....

Out of all the boss fights in Resident Evil Village, Heisenberg is one of the only ones where’s there no easy strategy to take him out. You sort of have to just play the fight out as the developers intended. Oddly enough, there’s no fighting him in his base form, which I guess makes sense, given that Ethan stole his hammer. That said, to get the “Blitzkrieg” challenge, you’ll have to beat him in under four minutes, and there are a few ways to make the whole process easier, even if you’re just speedrunning in general, so let’s go over some of those now....

Rob Liefeld, the creator of the sassiest mercenary around, Deadpool, is no longer a producer on Deadpool 3. Liefeld’s Merc with a Mouth debuted in February of 1991. Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, is best known for his habit of breaking the fourth wall, talking trash, and growing back severed body parts. Since Ryan Reynolds donned the red hood and katanas back in 2016 for the first time in Deadpool, revamping the character after his semi-introduction in the 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the character has been a smash hit....

Bethesda Game Studios’ next major release may be arriving sooner than expected in the form of rumored sci-fi RPG Starfield. A member of the gaming forum ResetERA posted in a Starfield related thread, stating that the game would be “coming this fall” and that fans should wait for E3. A ResetERA administrator confirmed with the commenter that they were “in a position to know such information,” but could not confirm the authenticity of the information itself....

Dontnod’s Life is Strange series is one of the most beloved franchises to come out of the last generation of gaming. After the success of the first two titles, as well as Deck Nine’s prequel series Life is Strange: Before the Storm, it’s no surprise that Square Enix wants to continue the success of both titles with another entry, which is rumored to be coming this year, as well as a Nintendo Switch port of the original game....

According to a leaked listing by German retailer World of Games, Battlefield 5 will be set in World War 1 and will only be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In an Electronic Arts’ investors call last year, the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blake Jorgensen revealed that the studio’s “intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles” and that fans could expect a new Battlefield in 2016....
