A recent patent by Square Enix might have given players some indications of what the developer might be preparing for an upcoming title or future series. While it isn’t clear if this will be going towards the next Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy titles, it does look like the developer and publisher is looking to expand on multiplayer systems. There is some language that can lend to what exactly Square Enix is looking to develop with this new system, which implies that this might be something intended for a completely new title....

Square Enix reveals its mysterious new RPG IP is called I Am Setsuna, and that the project is using the combat from SNES classic Chrono Trigger as inspiration. I Am Setsuna will be the debut effort from Square Enix’s new in-house studio, which has been ambitiously named Tokyo RPG Factory. The game and its studio’s existence were both confirmed during Square Enix’s E3 2015 presentation, although the effort was known simply as Project Setsuna then and no information beyond the fact it was in development and targeting a 2016 release was publicly available....

Insomniac’s new Spider-Man game is finally here, and fans have been absolutely loving swinging through the city as everyone’s favorite pseudo-arachnid. The experience has been so great that Game Rant even gave it a 5 out of 5 in our review. Some fans, however, are more passionate than others, including Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller, who has been campaigning for months to get his Shirtless Spider-Man in the game. It sounds like Shroud (aka Michael Grzesiek) is off streaming for a while after his second surgery, which is sure to disappoint his 100,000 Twitch subscribers. The battle royale gaming guru is sidelined due to a severe scooter injury that happened last month. While Shroud was careful not to land on his gaming arm, he reported that he is in a lot of pain. Easy Day Studios announced that its realism-focused skateboarding game Skater XL would be coming to the Nintendo Switch this year during Gamescom 2019, just days after it was announced for the Xbox One. On Friday the developers put out a video confirming their game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One this July. The two-minute multi-platform announcement trailer released on the Skater XL YouTube channel showcases impressively smooth gameplay featuring a number of “legends” like Brandon Westgate and Tiago Lemos cruising through Downtown Los Angeles around iconic landmarks like the LA Convention Center and Staples Center....

We’ve seen some pretty impressive projects made in Fortnite’s Creative mode, but an entirely new bar may have just been set. Chronicles of Zaneth: Phoenix Awakening is a fully-fledged open world fantasy RPG game — and it was completely built in Fortnite. The map was built by a user named spazy64, and it marks the creator’s 11th completed Fortnite project. Lovecraftian PC survival-horror game Song ff Horror is set to launch on PlayStation and Xbox on May 28, after a delay pushed back its original 20210 release date. For those of you that just can’t wait until then to play it, then you can still get it on Steam. Though the game’s developers, Raiser Games and Protocol Games, didn’t give a specific explanation for the previous delay, it is safe to assume that the current pandemic every industry is facing had something to do with it....

SEGA is releasing a new mobile title launching for iOS and Android; SEGA Heroes grabs characters from various SEGA franchises, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage. The game is described as an RPG in the Google Play store. The gameplay does have RPG elements, such as building a team and upgrading members. However, the actual battling system is not like Final Fantasy or the Mario & Luigi series....

“Welcome back Eddie Brock… it’s been a long time. Missed you, so much.” Sony has just unveiled a brand new trailer for the upcoming Venom: Let There Be Carnage movie that is releasing September 24. In this new footage, we get to see Woody Harrelson’s all-red symbiote monstrosity in live-action with glimpses of how Eddie and Venom’s relationship is after the events of the original film. What’s more, it’s confirmed that the movie will only be showing in movie theaters, so there’s no streaming debut here....
